hi my lotters, I have been thinking lately about giving back to my community. Please help me and let's pull our brains together. In the city where i live amidst the tall buildings and nice cars there are still people who are in extreme poverty and I have noticed that there are more children in the streets today than there was before. More people from faraway towns have migrated to the city and that has contributed to the problem of more people living in the slums. I simply do not want to give one time because I believe in teaching the man how to fish rather than giving him a fish and feeding him for a day. I have been hearing about social entrepreneurship, any suggestions on what type of business I cold put up that would not be so expensive but still help augment their livelihood by creating jobs as well as socially rehabilitating these people. Any tips on the how to's are highly welcome. If you could also recommend sites and articles about this is highly appreciated. I hope to hear from you mylot community. The more suggestions the better. Thanks.

Have you tried exploring the network marketing business? There are some bad raps about network marketing but there are also some good praises about the industry. I think that's the result of it's open-door policy, anyone can join regardless of background and experience, resulting in both good and bad. But if you can find a good network marketing company to affiliate yourself with, preferably a company with good trainings offered, you'll guarantee yourself success and those people you want to help succeed in life. Good network marketing companies offer for free success trainings, and leadership trainings. Some says, it is the real-life business school. Others said, it is the business school for people who like helping people. Try explore network marketing...

Hi there, this is an excellent discussion. I know I could always do more to help out my community. My husband and I bought and moved into our small house a little over 6 months ago so we've had the opportunity to get rid of a lot of "junk" to donate to places such as the Kidney Foundation and Salvation Army. I don't always have time to donate, but I figure that is what I can do with what I have for now! Your question is certainly a good one. Although I'm no pro on entrepreneurship, especially when it comes to giving back, I had an idea after reading your discussion. I thought that since you want to give back in a business type of way, could you involve these people in need in helping you give to others? For instance, you could rally these people with needs to help you give to others. The others you reach through the people who have agreed to help you could in turn come aboard, and your group of volunteers could grow. I hope that makes sense. I don't know if it would be a moneymaking opportunity in that you would necessarily hire anyone, but you could at least involve these in need from your community. That is something that has great potential to grow too. My feeling is that if you are just giving to those in need, that is great, but if you could also involve those in need and have them help out those of their own by coming together with you, that would be even better. It would keep those people who are in need really busy, and that would give them fulfillment by accomplishing such a great deed. Hope that gives you some good ideas! Best of luck, friend!!
