My first born HATED eating anything. When she was born they put a tube in her throat and irratated it so eating was thought to be a pain for her rather than an enjoyment. She is 14 now and still doesn't enjoy eating but at least she will. But when it was time for her to start solids I had a very hard time with her. Nothing she liked at all. But I found that she liked mashed potatoes. She still likes mashed potatoes. So what I did was I would make mashed potatoes every day. I would wash them really good and keep the peel on for added vitamins. Then I would add the vegetables or later on meats to it that I wanted her to eat and she would actually eat it. So I would mix the carrots into the potatoes and she would down it. Or peas or ground beef or cut up chicken. There were things that no matter what I did she hated like mushrooms or squash and still she doesn't like them so that will likely stick. Another thing I found after having three children is that they want whatever I am eating so I found that them seeing me eat these squashed up carrots and potatoes made them think that if she likes it then it is probably good. So those where my meals too. Worked for me. Good Luck!

kids the age of your child are very unpredictable. What they like one day they won't the next. Your child can eat any thing that your are eating. Just offer that to him. He will eat when he is hungry. Just be sure it is not junk food and never tell a child that vegetables are good for them or tell them that sweets are bad for them. They will eat sweets and think good for me tastes bad and bad for me tastes good. Kids go through growth spurts and that is when they will and you wonder if the will ever stop. They don't eat much when not going through a growth spurt. They are really pretty smart and know when to eat and what to eat if we as parents pay attention to them. We have to read between the lines.

For me, the more appropriate question would be what do my children not like to eat. However, I know that going from that angle will not help your dilemma at all. So, what I did for my children was to offer them some of everything that we were eating to see what they did and did not like. I was quite surprised to see when my daughter was small that some of her favorite foods were fish and vegetables. She loved broccoli trees and she still asks for fish all the time. She wouldn't, however eat any carbs at all. My son was only somewhat picky. What I think I learned from all of this is that with small children you have to offer them a variety of different foods.
