MyLot Friends - A Great Helium Support Group!

As I've already explained, when my best friend here on MyLot joined Helium, she kicked me into shape - in the nicest possible way - and got me leapfrogging to earn writing stars. When I shouted from the rooftops that I had 2 writing stars, several more MyLot friends pitched in with advice on keeping them and improving my writing score. I now have 3 writing stars, and a writing score of 76%. Not bad, when 3 weeks ago I had no stars and a score of 61%. Okay, I know if my writing wasn't any good, it wouldn't matter how much I leapfrogged, but thanks to help from my friends here, I'm earning more on Helium and also enjoying it more over there, as I've linked up with lots of friends. Instead of being on my own at Helium, I now feel as if it's MyLot for writers! We read each others stuff, and ask for suggestions for improving low ranking articles, and we pass on titles we think our friends may want to write to. So, my questions. Have your MyLot friends helped you to get more out of Helium? Do you have a great piece of advice to pass on? Let's all help each other some more!

Hello my best Mylot friend - no offence to my other mylot friends but you were the first and it's good to have you over at Helium too. Amazingly, but truthfully, you weren't a lot of help in the strategising department but I had some good help there from a my mylot friend Melinda. But it is certainly helpful to have you there, and it's even been fun getting you excited about pulling in those 3 stars. As you know I believe it is best not to compete over there but we can certainly help each other out. Off to helium now my dear, what a suprise I have lots of finance burble to pass on to those in need of my expertise. Good advice to pass on, I'm still working on strategising for more time than I spend writing, if I make any great discoveries I will share them with you. I saw you offering cheesecake somewhere, they don't sell the right cheese in Greece so plain would be good, or lemon. I used to have a thing for those individual pieces of marks and spencers apple and cinnamon ones.

Hello, Thea. I know I don't do practical - I have the soul of a writer, which doesn't include facts and figures. It took you to kick me into shape, but now I'm there, I'm defending my stars with everything I've got. Cheesecake is in the post.

i only heard about this helium from you and thea. is she the one you are saying "she kicked me into shape"? anyway, i am also in search of more extra income, extra cash, extra earnings online. i just still have to receive some information about helium, from you or from thea. does it really give more than mylot is giving? aren't they strict with our writings. i am afraid to try another writing sites if it will be beyond that strictness in our writings. i know i want to write a lot but i am not sure of my grammar and english construction in terms of long articles.

Hello, Neil. Yes, Thea's the one who did the kicking. Helium is a great place to learn the writing craft, and once you build up a portfolio, the earnings are good. Everything you write is published, but your articles go into the rating system, so the grammar has to be god for top rated article. Thea and I both have links to our Helium articles on our profiles, so I'd say go and read what we've written, and decide from that if you could write for Helium. If the answer is yes, and you decide to join, we'll help you out over there.

Well, that's it for me then, I am the worst person for grammar. I don't know where to put half of the punctuation and probably would be a big mess up. I was never good with grammar. And writing articles that had to be near perfect to be able to make anything well, the articles grammar would suffer I am afraid.

I joined Helium a few years ago and never pursued it. I never even wrote the first thing. Although when I joined it I didn't know anyone from mylot or even knew they wrote there and I am not a very good writer and feel more comfortable here at mylot where what I write isn't as judged maybe...I just checked and my account is still there..as mtdewgurl74..but I am lost when I am there and still don't know much about the site since I never really been there in the last few years. It has changed alot probably since I joined probably 3 years ago..or so..it is great that you have alot of friends helping you out and giving you advice and are able to add to your income using Helium.

I think the reason I never pursued it is because of not being able to do the grammar thing of being able to write the almost perfect article..so do you suggest any grammar sites that you or a friend there might use?

Becca, I don't use grammar sites, as I've always been lucky enough to have an instinctive feel for grammar and punctuation, so I can't help you there. However, I'm sure somebody here can. Why not put up a discussion?

Hello, Becca. It's definitely worth trying to figure out Helium. I'd suggest you look at some of the Helium discussions here - you'll pick up lots of tips. And if I can help you with anything, just PM me. Lots of MyLot members write on Helium, and I'm sure they'd all be willing to help you get started.

This site looks interesting. I used to write in Poetry.com but now it is a part of another site. Have to check if my poems are there - almost forgotten about it. I wonder if I can put my poems into Helium, even if they have been published - they are still mine of course - but does Helium want new things or can I put in the old ones?? Well, they are only three.. It was interesting to read your bio on your Hellium site. Are you planning to write a novel in the future?

Thanks, Sandra for your fast response. I have to get familiar with the site and put in some content. I hope to find my poems somewhere - English grammar is not easy, but it is possible to learn more and more by reading the language and we have good help from the translation sites on the Internet. Now that I have learned how to get rid of aces and pains, I might get healthy enough to continue studying English, as I planned many years ago.

Hello, Buenavida. Yes, you can publish your poems on Helium - you just need to find an appropriate title to put them under. No, I'm not planning a novel. I think my strength lies in non-fiction writing. Mind you, that could change ...

I think that inhaling Helium at work is a really bad idea... OK I haven't done anything on Helium, just thought I'd stop by and say hi!

Hello, Dawn, always lovely to see you. You really should do some writing - everyone should benefit from your great sense of humour, not just your friends on MyLot.

I'd like to, but time is the main issue, especially with three children. But hey, only 9 1/2 more years of indentured servitude! :-)

I haven't actually joined helium but I was thinking of it. Though I'm not sure if that's open to our country as well. But with this news I'm more encouraged to try that.

Hello, Abitcurious. I see you are from the Phillipines. I know that another member of MyLot from the Phillipines has joined Helium, so you should be fine.

I'm scared to try writing online. Hey got an idea, can i send you a link of my trial blog and then see if I can pass helium too? Coz that will be very helpful. What do you think?

looks like you are doing very well in Helium Sandra. That is the beauty of friends in mylot when it comes to support. You can always count on them when the need arises. Unfortunately, Helium is only limited to some countries. So I have no advice for friends there. Good luck to you and hope you meet great success there.

Hello, Zandi. I'm not too keen on the Helium policy of excluding certain countries, but I suppose there is a reason for it. Thanks for the support.
