Who's your favorite musician?

So since myLot is an international site with people from all over the world, I thought that it would be a cool idea for everyone to share a favorite song and artist and the genre of that artist of theirs so that we can all get a glimpse of music from all parts of the world!
My favorite artist is Jack Johnson, he plays acoustic guitar with a little pop and and upbeat influence to his music. I'd recommend any of his songs. Go On is a really mellow and simple song of his. Upside Down and Flake are also very very good!

I honestly cant pick just one fav really...Music is a HUGE part of my life and has been since I was just a little kid so there are MANY artists i can and do say are my favs from Nina Simone to Bif N@ked to HIM to KISS to B.B King and the list goes on and on.....

Sting, Seal, Alanis Morissette, Bon Jovi, David Bowie... okay seriously, this list can go on forever. I am pretty diverse when it comes to music.

Okay, I know how many people feel about Classical music, so may I make a suggestion? This is not your typical classical music group, and this is a song that is typically played around Christmas, but many people love it so much, they listen to it generally any time of the year: Trans Siberian Orchestra. These guys rock. Even though they are classical, they are a different kind of classical. Listen to "Wizards of Winter", and you will see what I mean. For people who hate classical music, this one really changes their thoughts about it. Also, if I could find the part of "AMV Hell 4" that has the song and the Anime visuals for it, you would probably love it. I know so many people who could not stand Anime and/or Classical music, and then they saw that video.
Personally, I love classical music because modern music really would not be what it is today without Classical, tribal, and folk music. I once majored in music, and so I have a strong appreciation for the music that started it all.

my favourite musician is michael jackson.. and there are lots of songs i like of mj.. too bad he had to leave this world.. i like his singing style and of course his dancing.. it is too entertaining and wonderful to watch.. whenever i watch his live videos i get this amazing feeling and i like him a lot.. RIP mj...

I don't have just ONE favorite musician I have Several. From Barry White, Miles Davis, Micheal Jackson, Prince, Sade, Peter Gabriel, Herb Albert etc... the list goes on and on!

i had listen to many musician but i come up with only one all-time favorite of mine. it's michelle branch. i don't know, but i like her very much since i was in grade 4. XD her songs are cool and she's cute. she's in pop/rock scene before, but now she just switched to country. my favorite song of her, from the old songs of MB, is "tuesday morning" and from the new songs, i haven't heard all of them so i can't give my favorite out of the songs from her upcoming album "sooner or later". xD

Country is also not really one of my favorite genres but there are a few country songs that I do really enjoy. Mostly the more upbeat and pop style ones. I haven't heard any of her music yet but I'm about to go look up that song you suggested! Thanks for the recommendation and the post! I hope I like her! Happy mylotting.

For me, my favorite musician is Taylor Swift cause she really lives up to her theme which is the country song. She doesn't make country song just an ordinary genre of music rather she puts life on to it that is why many are hooked up to almost all her compositions including me. Taylor Swift is a versatile artist for she can combine various genres of music without removing the country style. She is really one of the most admired musician nowadays.

I'm actually not too much of a fan, but many people have got to like her considering she won a collection of awards so far. She does have some talent, but her lyrics are just not appealing to me at all. I do really like your analysis though cause it is true. She does have some talent. If she steps up and widens her lyrics and changes her playing style just a little bit more she might find herself with an even larger audience.

i'd like to start with the genre of music that i like most - it's rock(there are many sub genres of rock too but i like most of them - so just rock!). it's really hard to pick a favorite artist or band. but CREED comes out on top of my list, followed by ALTER BRIDGE(same CREED members with a different frontman), LINKIN PARK, METALLICA, GODSMACK, OASIS, 3 DOORS DOWN, etc, etc...in fact there are lots that i like and i really feel guilty not mentioning them all. i'm just mentioning those that came to my mind now.
my favorite song is MY SACRIFICE by CREED. like artists, there are so many songs that i like so i better not mention anymore than this!
