Hello everyone, I am having a very hard time training my puppy, he is a min pin and he just learned how to sit on my command. Now i'm trying to train him how to "stay" on command. but my problem is he ignores his treats (prize) for being a good boy or when he follows me. I tried other treats like bacon strips for dogs but he just don't like it as much as the other one. Any suggestions?

My dog is horrible when it comes to things like this, and is quite picky when it comes to things like that. I have a few suggestions for you to try: A: Treat dog food. - Essentially, this is the more expensive food, maybe even in a smaller bag, that is much tastier than what he normally received. Maybe try even canned food as treats? If you give him dry, at least. B: Toys - Reward him with play. Toys and games are a good way for this. When he does things you command him to do, reward him with attention and play, or even a 'special' toy that he loves more than any other. C: Attention - Some dogs love attention, whether is be cuddling, playing, petting, or some other activity that they really enjoy. Maybe after successful commands, a walk, cuddling, petting, or even a drive may be the way to go. Of course, he should know the special attention is due to his good behavior. Those are just a few, and there are many more things you could try. Hopefully those can get you started, though. =)

Thank you for that great advice, I will surely try that today. But, I can't give him just any kind of treats, he's allergic to certain type of foods, mostly chicken and I consulted his vet about this and said that most canned dog foods contains chicken, so he is in a very expensive diet right now and his food is a very high quality food and is very expensive too, hmmp. He got sensitive coat so i can't risk him on tyring some other food. Thank you for your great advice. :)
