Have you ever used foul words and profanity, ( virtually)?
While interacting with all sorts of people whom we meet in this vast world of Internet, there are some real weirdos. Won't you agree?
The other night as I usually do, I logged onto play chess at yahoo.
This user started to lose after a couple of moves, and then the real "fun" begun. He started hurling abuses and I was more than keen to dish him back what he served.
Now, it has happened to me quite a number of times, How about you?
Have you ever met with someone who tests your patience and begins and ends a conversation with all sorts of profanity?
How do you react to it?
Please do share, Bodhi
P.S. Thank God, Mylot isn't a place like that.

Hi Bodhi,
I am not comfortable saying or uttering profane/foul and bad words. Even if I reached the point of bursting out, I tried not to say bad words. Once it’s said that’s it and there’s no way of taking it back again. Words are really sharp and it can even kill people. So, better be careful of what we say.

Yup freind, Indeed words can have very strong implications. Its really good to know that you abstain from using foul language. Its a must and hope that everybody could have understood that. It would have been such a beautiful planet then.

most filipino are not into profanity words as we tend to respect other people as we also dont want them to do the same to us. when i work in call center since our callers are from the US, we always received a lot of irate calls from them with a lot of profanity words. looks like its just a normal words to them and looks like they're just eating it, some of my co employee cried because they're not into it and since its their first time to heard those words. though i know that not all are the same in US.

I had been to The Philippines twice last year. And I know that you guys are not at all abusive. On the contrary I had met some of the most decent and kind natured, fun loving persons there. You people are very warm and friendly. I mean every word I said, I still meet my friends from there online.
I am sorry about your friend.
Profanity is a strict NO for me.
Thanks for sharing,
Bodhi

Although I have been known to swear on occasion, I wouldn't dream of using profanity on the internet. There are certain limits in a public forum and when I encounter anyone using that kind of language I find it offensive.

hello dear bhai,
I was an active member of Orkut before(i still had my account in there, but i am not active anymore)
We had this community owned by a friend from Brazil.
And there is one common friend,a member of that community too.
She was too arrogant and she wants to be treated like a queen, and that she is to frank.
It is fine to be frank and honest, but, not to the extent of insulting one person.
Then,a very sad news happen in our community, our postings were deleted by the site admin due to it's too much number of postings...we reached a hundred thousand of postings already that is against the site rules(and that, the admin has had to delete the postings)
Then, this girl pointed directly the blame to moderators, which happens to be all my friends(the moderators)
One of my friend really cried when she read about it(the girl who accused the moderators).
She is so mean...that,i wasn't able to control my temper...i really had wrote and called her stupid(that's the meanest word i ever used for the first time online).
That's one reason why i left that site...i am still coming and using my account in there..but very seldom now.

Hello Sis,
So you are still up, so late.
Orkut is one of the most stupidest sites I have ever known. The communities are frequented by teenagers and they are simply so naive and top of that they claim to be so wise.
I wouldn't log on to my orkut account again.

hello dear bhai,
I think you are right, some people used and abused the communities and think they are too wise(just like what i wrote)
But,i am still thankful from that site,i happen to met some of my real friends...and one family (Indian family)whom i met thru that sites, whom we had a very close relation for 3 years now.
They are also living here in my country, but still visiting India every year.

I am not going to lie and say I have never used vulgar language on the Internet. I really do not go out of my way to do it however. It's not like I drop the old "f-bomb" or any other word just for the sake of swearing. Nothing like thing as swearing can emphasize certain points when used sparingly. I mean very sparingly. I mean once maybe every so often. Just like anything else, when used to the point of overuse, it can lose its meaning and become annoying. This is true on both the real life and on the Internet.
However, I do admit that in the heat of a discussion, tempers can flare. Even if I try to keep a cool head, there are just some people that are so ignorant that it just causes my calm demeanor to slip. I have figured out that I need to stay away from certain types of discussions. Because if those types of discussions will cause certain words to be used because of anger, then obviously it will not be a good idea for me to be near them. Still, its happened. Not proud of it, but things happen, whether it be online or in real life.

Ach, I used to have a sailor's mouth! *blush* but I've managed to stop. My husband still swears a bit, though. Now, I just simply either ignore the curse words or if the time's right I'd tell them to clean out their mouths or I'll stop talking with them, but that's very rare.

I don't swear but if somebody just abuses me with their wretched language I could give them back their own words.
Thank you friend for sharing!
