Which garage door to buy?

I built a new house about 4 years ago and did on-line and off-line research on garage doors before deciding on a Raynor door. Unfortunately, I can't tell you, now, what all the factors were in my selection process or what made me select the Raynor over the others, but I can assure you cost was one of the factors. I've been pleased with the door's performance, to include keeping the cold and heat out. My garage maintains a "decent" temperature year round...not too cold or too hot. It also looks good with the beveled windows... I'd start with an on-line search for garage door manufacturers... Be sure to include an insulation rating (R rating), as well as cost in your selection process. Another way to go may be to sign up for or find a friend who has a subscription to Consumer Reports. CR may have something on garage doors. Finally, pick a garage door you like in the neighborhood and go ask a neighbor...
