Yes, when I was little, my parents used to take us to the carnival every friday night or saturday night. Together with my siblings, we ride all sorts of stuff that were safe for us. And I can still remember very clearly when our mom takes us to this clown place which we always find scary, I always hated dolls and clowns, even until now, i just don't like them, there are scary for me. When I was little, all my toys are not the lady like toys, mostly are little boy's toys and whenever i get a doll from anyone, i just destroy them and hid them in my closet.

...Hi Mike4me, I used to love the carnivals as well, especially getting cotton candy, it was a lot of fun. For some reason I was fascinated by the elephants, maybe because of their size. I can't remember the clowns having any effect on me. There have been reports done that say that clowns have a negative effect on children. I guess because they can have those very sad faces, and red noses. I don't really know. Do you know why you did not like dolls? I don't remember ever wanting a doll from my parents, I can only remember wanting and getting a bike, which was stolen, we got it back but it was in bad shape. Take good care, and thanks.

I went to one circus as a child and I didn't particularly enjoy it - it was the kind with animals so although I thought the tigers were beautiful I found it all rather sad.
I don't know if I was ever frightened by a clown but I can't stand them and have always hated clown ornaments and stuff. I grew up in the eighties and the in thing for girls bedrooms was Pierrot artwork and it gave me the creeps - thank goodness we were poor and my mother never decorated my room like that!
There was a very well observed drama series over here called Ashes to Ashes where a woman detective ends up in the 1980s and she keeps dreaming about Pierrot chasing her. It's still a very horrible image. YUK!

I remember going to the circus on holiday with my parents when I was little and crying because I didnt like the clowns lol. I wouldnt say Im scared of them now but not really a fan either. I went to the circus a couple of years ago at same place and quite enjoyed it. I like watching trapeze artists n stuff like that and there was a quick change couple who were pretty good.

...Hi donna22, I think you are with a lot of children who really did not like the clowns because they were strange looking. I enjoyed the circus acts when we would go, for some reason I really liked the elephants, don't ask me why, I really don't know "o). we used to go to circus when i was a kid, i dont like clowns and i dont find them funny, im just pity on them(sorry for that). what i like in circus is magic and acrobats or lion jumping with the the ring of fire or the stunt man playing above with the ropes, i dont know what it called.

...Hi homeshoppers, Nice to hear from you again. Hope you are taking good care. As I mentioned in the other post, they have found that children are afraid of clowns. And if you think about it, children are small, and this person comes up to them in some kind of big costume, with very large feet and a painted face, big red nose, it
could be scary to a litle person. Don't want to put them out of a job, but maybe they should only interact with the older children. I enjoyed those things as well, you may be talking about the trapeze artist, or the man that swings around on the rope, I don't think you can call him anything else than a stunt man as you have.
