I feel so stupid.
I had written a discussion on gardening, I hit start discussion, put in the tags, then accidently hit "skip". As soon as I realised my error, I hit the back button, put in the tags, and started again.
Now look at what's happened!!
I have two identical discussions.
I cant even remove one.
Have you ever made a silly mistake like this? Or similar?
Maybe I could get admin to rtemove one discussion?4 people like this

If you hadn't posted that you had made a mistake I wouldn't have noticed. I just thought that I responded and then didn't delete the discussion. I make mistakes all the time. It seems that if I delete a lot of the discussion the whole thing gets wiped out and then I have to start all over again.
I was sending an e-mail and I don't know what I hit, but it was sent. Then I had to send another to finish what I was saying and explain what had happened.@jennybianca (12912)

I thought lots of my friends would see the mistake. Never mind. I have reported my own discussion to admin.
I have had two discussions and responses wiped out with errors today, it is quite annoying.
I can imagine your frustration at the sent half email.

The sent half e-mail made me feel pretty stupid. Luckily it was to a friend. If it had been to a company or something it would have been worse.1 person likes this

Don’t feel bad, you are not the only one who has done this! I have duplicated responses on a few occasions and once I submitted a discussion into a particular interest that absolutely nothing to do with the subject! I don’t remember now which discussion it was but is sure confused a lot of people who were responding with statements like, “WTF?” It was like posting a post about cats in the cars interest, it made no sense whatsoever!

I did that once. I posted a discussion in the gardening interest and really it was about travel.

Hi jenny, I haven't made the same mistake, but have made an error, and then found there was no way to adjust it. In my opinion, we should have an option to edit our own discussions.

I agree completely. I often have spelling errors from typing too fast.

you can write admin and they most of the time will delete the extra one.. i have had it happen 2 times and once they removed the extra one and i dont think they ever got around to the other one grrrrr... but make sure and put the link to the one you want deleted and then the one that you want kept so they understand its double and which one you want gone.. and also by telling them then they know you werent trying to scam them

I have not made this kind of mistake. but in one of my discussion, I got a comment to remove name of great Lady Diana's name. I also felt that it should be removed from the discussion, But the discussions at mylot are like the shoot bullets, they can be amended once they are on air. (here is that discussion link for your reference http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/2243537.aspx)
So I requested admin to get it remove from the discussion, or allow me to amend the same. But as per the rule at myLot, if no one is reporting against the discussion, they don't change or delete it. And the rules are rules. So if you wish to get it removed then press abuse for your self is the only option.

i usually end up double posting sometimes because of browser farts..
i don't recall doing it to a discussion.
admin would probably do it for you.

Browser Farts! I like that description.
I have contacted admin via abuse rteporting my own discussion & explaining the situation to them. Unfortunately as my time zone is wildly different from admins, it is likely to be there for a while.1 person likes this

jennybianca,
Just to let you know that you are not alone on this and you can consider another head count here.
For my end, it has more to do with some lagging responses from the transmission or server responses. I've proposed that the admin could actually grant a form of control for this form of accident i.e. to enable the originator to delete his/her discussion when there's a duplicate like this. But, I suppose there's still some technicality involved that this could not be available.

You are not alone in your thinking that it is to do with lagging srever responses. When Alice was doing her disccusions on various problems, I suggested that the problem of disappearing discussions, responses and some photos was due to the server not coping with a high number of users all at once.

Honestly, I did mention this to her in one of the feedback discussions.

hi jennybianca oh yes several times and I even asked my lot to delete one of them but if they did its just been in the last day or too. I noticed one person posted five copies of his response so he evidently had hit some sort of glitch. mine was because I thought my first discussion had just vanished so I rewrote my discussion and hit start discussion then found I had two copies, not quite a like but pretty similar.I guess now mylot admins is deleting copies but am not sure.

I have contacted My Lot admin via the abuse button & reported my own discussion!
But I explained that I wanted it deleted.
This person who wrote 5 copies of his response, was it all under the one reply, or did he post it under various replies?
