I am dumbfounded. The economic stimulus law added between 1 million to 2.1 million workers to employment rolls by the end of last year, a new report released Tuesday by congressional economists said. The report said the most efficient parts of the stimulus include infrastructure projects such as road- and bridge-building and more generous unemployment benefits. On the other hand, the popular first-time homebuyer tax credit isn't a very efficient use of stimulus dollars, the report said. So this begs the question. Were these temp jobs? I know somebody who got "stimulated" he does road work. He was "stimulated" for almost a whole month. What do you think? Here is the whole story http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2010/02/23/cbo-says-stimulus-created-million-jobs/

They've been repaving and widening roads & bridges down here in south Florida for a long time now...it's a pain in the butt actually but it's putting folks to work so I don't complain about the delays. I do realize that these aren't long term, career jobs but they helping folks pay the bills right now.

But when you look at how much money ot took to generate so few hours of work. It just doesnt add up.

I think it is a bunch of phoney balogna ! Public sector jobs just increase the debt or just go away. What we really need are tax cuts for businesses that hire people that aren't working currently. Have you seen the stats on the amount of money it is taking to create each job that they say has been "created" or "saved" ? Millions of dollars for just a few jobs when they would have been better off just writing a bunch of people individual checks. That would have helped more people than creating their "jobs". But that would have been the wrong thing to do as well. Tax cuts for businesses would put people to work, build confidence, and put dollars into circulation in local economies. This would create a spiral affect upward almost immediately, would be on a "pay later" basis so no money has to be printed, and get more bang for the buck in the long wrong. What is wrong with our politicians ?!

The only jobs I've seen added are public sector jobs. I especially like the Census 2010 workers, who are still being added to the roster, yet not one survey has been taken.
