I'm working with a telecommunication company for 1.5 years now. Sad to say I am not happy with it. There are times that I'm bored because I have nothing to do and sometimes I don't want to go to the office anymore. But I have no choice because I'm bind with a contract with this company so I could not tender my resignation at this point in time. I am looking forward to the day that my contract will be finished and I will have the chance to start on a new job. How about you, are you happy with your current job? What do you do to avoid boredom?

Have you talked to your boss about the lack of meaningful work? That's what I'd do first. Now's not the time to be looking for a new job. Trust me...I'm looking and meaningful work is hard to find. (Unless, of course, you think watering plants at Home Depot for $9 an hour sounds exciting.)

Yup, I have talked to him about that. He knew so well. Less work is common to us in the office due to the fact that we don't have projects anymore.

Any chance you could sign-up for on-line education/training/certification courses and have the company foot the bill?

Hi leiz, glad to hear from you. Good for you. You should be thankful to God for having a good job. On my end, i'm not saying that my job is not good enough but there are really times that boredom would strike too hard specially now that I have nothing to do most of the time. But I have to bear with this job until my contract will be finish. Have a great day too.

why are you not enjoying your job. if you've not been enjoying for long you should have changed your job earlier. i suppose you work in a big office since it is a telecom company., so you can also try to move to another dept within your office

Hello shello I like my job for the most part. There are times when I get bored. I do need vareity in my job to keep me ahppy. When I get low on work I ask my boss for more. There is always something I can do here at work. When I am bored I sometimes do this or try find somehting to get my brain active again. There are will always bored times with any job. They key is work through it. I get paid well here and acutally one comapnies that gave out bonus to each employer 2 weeks of pay and plus a profit sharing the first with the company. For me it was nother weeks worth of pay put right into my 401K account. So yes I am bored but I try stay focus on the good points and I have health benefits and dental too. There are total of 30 employees at this company. Thanks and have a great day Sincerely Unique16

You have to have the liking towards the job, work or place of work, salary...etc., Always try to be satisfied with whatever u have. Otherwise, we can not have peace of mind in life.....I am not asking u not to change the job. but, I always feel that we should cultivate the habit of being happy in whatever condition we are......God has given us enough, be satisfied with that. I have seen many who do not have anything in life, still they are happy......

Thank you. It's good to hear from people who have God in their hearts. You just reminded me that we have a great God who has given us enough and I should be satisfied in everything that I have.

Well, I’m OK with my present job though I think every job has its own hassles and one cant be busy in office all the time. We all go thru hours which are very boring and to keep off the boredom, I mylot and play games. You too can do the same.

I had that kind of feeling before in my previous job and it was really awful. Fortunately for me I was not bound with a contract, so I was able to leave after 6 mos. In your case, try to find something useful in your work and just focus into this at the moment. Think about your colleagues and plan things with them after work. It might help you in your motivation at this time. Sometimes we stay in a company not because of work but with people that we are working with. Try to have fun with them and don't focus your thoughts to the negative things about your job now. The more you think about it the more you'll feel depress.

I am constantly bored. I work at home and it's very lonely. I do as much as I can to make the time pass, but when I am done with work, I am still at the same place home. It can really get to you when you don't get out much because you don't have to commute to work.

Just think of the other people who are still having problems in finding jobs. You are so lucky to have such kind of job. Just wait for your contract to end if you are really desirous of resigning.

don't worry 1.5 years more then you can happily leave your boring job. i also have a job where there's not much to do. it's kinda boring due to the lack of challenge career wise but just like you i'm just waiting for a few more months to find another job. but hey if it's paying us then what's not to like about it right? lol ^^

No, I'm not bored at all! I love my "job"! I'm a student and I love learning new things. It makes me a better person. It makes more capable to do things and do it better then I used to do it. My job is very exciting even though I don't earn money with it (but it's better get wiser than richier imo). But I have time at home (after studying) and can earn on mylot! hell yeah! lol

i have my teaching job for three years now. although sharing my knowledge is enjoyable. i hate what my co-teachers make me do, they tend to abuse their seniority... they give me all the paperworks when after all they don't have anything to do. it's not fair isn't it? i'm planning to resign next school year and get back to my old work as a PC and cellphone technician where i enjoy interacting with costumers and other techies...

I am bored with my work and I'm not happy because my career is not progressing, there are no projects coming. I am stuck with my Job I couldn't even apply to other companies because I think I am not qualified. I also felt that I don't want to go to the office. All I have done all day is to stare at the monitor and wait for breaks. There is no motivation and I think everything I do is useless.

hi there, unlike you, my job isnt very routinary. everyday things might chang and in truth i kinda like everything to be more routine and therefore less stressful. there are a lot of people who also say that office jobs are boring and i beleive them, maybe it's just that i havent experience that before.. i guess to lessen your boredom, i guess you could bring a book, or a sketch pad if you like doodling or look at some sites like postsecret.com or orisinial.com or start a blog.. or probably bring a lot of sodoku puzzles. i hope i could help in my simple way

I am not that happy with my current job. I get bored, and sometimes, I just don't like what I do. I am grateful though that I have a stable job, but sometimes, i just can't help but think that I want to try other things. Plus my pay is not that much, so that gives me another reason to live.. Actually this weekend, I'm going to start to look for another job again, cause I think that it's time to move on. I have been with my current job for 3 years now, and I still don't have a clue where I would go, or what will happen to me.

I am happy being a teacher and I can speak in English most of the time to my students and I have this passion for teaching so its really fine by me. But I feel lazy sometimes, and I feel like I dont wanna work because its going to be the same old thing everyday and I I get tired of having y students understand what I want to say. It is just so difficult for them. I am not tired about what I do but I am tired of saying the same things over and over and no one seems to understand what I mean.

Yeah, its true that sometimes a work becomes boring when we already finished a task and we've got nothing to do anymore in the office. We have to be thankful that we've got ourselves a job, try to look for things to do to make yourself busy. Imagine other people who have already worked longer than you, let's say people working in a company with the same job for about 5-30 years? Why haven't they became bored working in a company for the same job all their life?
