Presence of a good friend, makes life enjoyable. Getting a friend with whom one can share his happiness and sorrow, is matter of luck. However virtual friendship is different than real in many ways, like we r not able to see our friends, not able to talk to them. but still there is something that binds virtual friends togather. what binds virtual friends togather? What is your expactations from virtual friends?

I think virtual friends come with very little expectations and great advantages. If you've never met a person you are less likely to be self consious and less likely to worry about being judged. I think it also helps to have virtual friends to talk about things that you wouldn't to real friends or family just because of the nature of the problem.

Good friends, at least my best friends, don't judge me, and they are my friends because they're willing to listen, and help if they can, to my problems, no matter how awful the problems/issues. I don't have but a handful of best friends, but I wouldn't change them for all the virtual "friends" in the world.

As the saying goes "REal friends are hard to find"...I believe in the trusting relationship formed between the presence of two good friends. It is indeed very helpful just knowing you have true friends who are just a phone call away. However it can handy to know you have virtual friends because they can be helpful in many ways you can never imagine possible.
Virtual friendship provides you a non-intimate friendship which saves you the hassle of fighting and it also provies you with a not too personal level of friendship which can be handy when you need to have an instant response on some kind of personal question or problem. You create a virtual identity of yours and you are not revealing your real identity in virtual friendship which saves you the harm of blackmail problems. In this manner you just happen to have similar interest in a certain level only which does not grow into a more deeper friendship.
My expectations from virtual friends are quite simple...I just expect it to be more superficial and pretty predictable. It's like having a distant friend whom you never see often but will be there when you need them without the cohesiveness of being together. Anyway, I believe in friendships that enjoy in which you don't need to be together physically but emotionally and intellectually.

Very well said indeed.
Thanks for your response.
Both real life friends and virtual life friends have their own importance in one's life, and their own place also.

I agree real friends can convey emotions in better way by means of touch, hug etc. and its better to have real friends. But i have seen very strongly connected virtual friends.
Thanks for your opinion.
