Will you fall in love with someone you've just met?

I've just watched a movie earlier and the characters fall in love with each other after a few days they have been together. The guy even had a girlfriend but he broke up with her. Could this really be true? How would you know exactly that it is really love and not just infatuation? Share to me your thoughts about this?

It's hard to judge the person. And,it's hard to tell what really happens...could it be love in a short acquaintance or not. No one knows, and no one could ever tell if it is real/true love but the person alone who had felt it. Love comes from the most unexpected moment, places and time. If it is real love that they had felt...then,maybe it is true. This can happen to anyone. Long or short engagement is not the basis for true love. Love is felt...deep within...and not a subject that we need to analyze. The very moment it struck the heart of someone,no one could ever tell but the person alone.

I couldn't agree with you more. In fact, they said that the moment you already have reasons why you say you love the person it is not love after all. I am reminiscing the time I decided to get married. You know me and my husband were only together as couple for 5 months and we were not even together as he lived in a different city. But there was really a strong emotion between us and made us decide to get married. I have been into 2 long relationships prior to that but I have never thought to get married to the other 2. But with him after a month of being together we decided immediately that we are going to get married. We even thought of eloping. Haha. After 7 years going 8 with 2 wonderful children, I could say my decision was never wrong. There are difficult times of course but I think our love made us get through it.

hello, Read my writings...as i have said...long or short engagement is not the basis. Love comes unexpectedly.... I also had friend who's been engaged for more than 8 years, but broke up from that relationship becoz she instantly fall in love with a man she just met for a brief acquaintance. I also had experience same situation...we can never say that, short or whirlwind romance is not true. Everything depends on the person/people who were in that situation. So,it's not impossible to fall in love with a stranger either. As long as the person is capable to fall in love,then...love is possible in whatever possible ways too.

That's why I said I agree strongly coz time is not really a basis for good relationships but rather the individuals. Thanks for your reply.

A movie it's a movie, it's made to let us dream. Falling in love is a process that takes time, you like someone and you see him her as a potential partner, you are happy to see him her again and slowly you find out if the two of you match. If that happens then the "falling in love" process starts, and the very beginning (about 6 or 9 months) is the strongest where some ormons' levels are very high, that tends to lower a bit after these 6-9 months. People get fond of eachother and love eachother the being deeply in love usually goes away after the 6-9 months I mentioned ( that is the period the couple would stay togheter by nature to seattle down for the arrival of a baby, then bond can get stronger and stronger.

You still mention the hormones huh hehe. Yeah usually the first few months are really the most intense. For others after a few months it seems like they already take for granted their partners. It's just difficult to tell sometimes.

hehe yes sad to say but hormones tell us what to do and how to behave in many many situations. I read all that I wrote in a magazine a few years ago when I was still freshly in love, and I thought it wasn't true, but actually it's true. I still love her very much, but the butterflies in the stomach are gone, I'm happy to see her, I think of her, but not as much as I did at the very beginning, and I don't even give for granted that she's gonna be with me forever, anything could happen.

Honestly that has happened to me. I met my boyfriend and we talked all the time, day/night did webcam chats and what not. As we were talking one night I realize I was in love with him after a short amount of time.

Hi,It's attraction and not love, their must be attraction in love but it's not the only thing, their must be respect, trust and compatibility in love and it takes quite a long time to know any person, but these things i believe for love but as we all know love is the most unpredictable thing.

Very unpredictable indeed. Sometimes you think it's love but afterall it is not.

With regards to the movie you watched earlier, I don't believe it's true love. Aside from falling in love with another woman despite the wrong circumstances may not be a example of a lasting loving relationship but rather more of an affair alone. I believe than you encounter true love only once but at the right time, right place, right moment, right circumstances...everything should be at the right places because it is the path leading you to mr/ms right. In this manner everything should fall into the right order and everything should be devine....that's true love for me and it does not matter whether you just met that person a few days ago...you'll just know inside of you and in your heart that everything is good. Nice topic you started here rajaiv0810...happy mylotting.

Well in the movie it started real wrong coz the guy was attached. When he tried to break up with his GF it didn't happen so easy as well. He also did try to save the relationship but it didn't work out. The new girl also tried to get on with her life as she felt she was deceived as she was not chosen by the guy. She even found a BF and was about to get married. She didn't knew all along that the guy really tried to look for her all the time that they were separated. When they met the 2nd time it didn't work out again coz the girl this time got engaged. But her BF finally let go of her because he knew that she's so in love with the guy. It seemed like it was the time which made it right for them after all. The movie was so touching and when I finally went out of the cinema my eyes are just so puffy and so my friends' too.

Oh that's the most romantic thing I've heard from someone. I hope you'll finally find the right girl for you. I strongly believe that if you really listen to your heart it will lead you to her. Goodluck.

If a person have a girlfriend whom he truly love, then I can't understand that why feelings will come for someone else. This is not good and shows a characterless image. Real love happens only once in life. A person should live with one he truly love.

Then probably his love for his girlfriend is not as much as his love for the other girl. Sometimes I ask the same question too you know. why others still fall for another person and claims that they love their GF or BF?
