According to Mozilla's Sun Spider test,Firefox is 28% faster than Chrome on Windows Xp and 16% faster on Vista. The Cnet report says that the Firefox new version outpaces chrome. At chrome launch , Google showed performances results of the browser using its collection of 5 Java scripts benchmarks and V8- chrome's Java script engine. To counter this Mozilla has come up with different test called sun spider. The results of the sun spider shows some great performance that chrome as per the Cnet reports. I don't know about the technical terms used but I'm still using chrome.Whether Firefox really doing good in performance than chrome?????

I have used Firefox for quite some time and the latest version is really great. I also have Chrome. That is reasonably fast, but sometimes pages won't load at all, where they will in Firefox. So mostly I used Firefox, and sometimes Chrome. _Derek

I changed back from using Chrome to Firefox a month or so a go because my flash plugin kept crashing and slowing everything down to an exasperating crawl. I've now upgraded Firefox and find it much faster than I used to.

I have never tried Chrome. I prefer Firefox to Internet Explorer though. I use it with the "noscript" add on, works pretty well. What do you like about chrome?

Chrome is very simple. The main thing is the title bar or the address bar won't take more space.I think you get it.Firefox occupies more space in title bar, menu, address bar like that.Chrome has just two simple icons which includes all.It is very user friendly. So I prefer chrome.

I use firefox for a few important reasons. - The possibility to personalize. - Chrome sends user data to their servers, which I believe is a severe privacy violation, firefox does not do this. - Chrome has severe security issues meaning that it's easy for a hacker to take over your computer through the browser. - Firefox is easier to update and when updating it's clearer what the changes will be. - Firefox is faster. At times it takes a while for chrome to load a link while firefox never hangs like that and in general firefox is simply faster.

Oh, chrome sends user data to the servers ? Really bad.I don't know that till now. Here after I should be careful. And again you shocked me that it is easy for the hacker.I have to think now.Thank you friend for the nice explanation.

I use a Vista with 300kbps connection and in my experience Chrome is faster. I'd go for chrome anytime because of the fast rendering of images and pages an the extra browsing space you get. In my humble opinion, Chrome is the best browser of everyday surfing. Firefox has been around for a while, so a lot of add-ons and extensions are available as opposed to chrome which is new. So if you want to use bots and scripts or use tools like autofill/Roboform or do anything out-of-the-way from the normal browsing, then Firefox is better. For everyday work, I'll stick to Chrome.

I too use Chrome always.Mainly due to its simplicity and user friendly. But if I check the speed by opening the same pages in chrome and Mozilla , Mozilla opens it faster than chrome.I have checked many times.Still the reason is mystery.Anyway I always prefer chrome. But I also use Firefox very rarely.
