Hey guys just wanted to know why you can't not go back to your discussion and correct a error on it. I was trying to ask on Idol if people were happy with who got booted off. instead of the word who I have you. I was typing fast and didn't notice it until after I hit post. I wanted to go back and correct the question but it wouldn't let me. WHY???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

Its been an issue over and over. Did you use the search feature here before posting these? if not then, if you do a search you can find the reason why mylot does not allow it. Only mylot staff can do a delete of our post if we made a mistake on it. I also want this feature but will see in the next future when mylot allow this.

No right now I just recovering from being so dumb. I am sure people will understand and yes maybe later that will be a feature on here. Nice to see I am not alone.

Hi Snoopyfan, I too wish we could edit or delete a post that we made. I too have been typing too fast at times and make a minor mistake, I think we all have a times. I wouldnt worry about the mistake you made though because like you said people should beable to figure out what you actually meant and it wont be such a big deal. Happy mylotting!

hi snoopyfan the only way I know and I have done this often is to see the error, post the discussion then add a comment to it telling the viewers what the error was and what it should have been., I was really thinking responses here but I do not see why You could not do this on your discussion also?

Yes I tried to do that I have to wait for someone to respond first. It doesn't have comment at first for the person who started it. Thank you for your input.

Hallo...me too always write wrongly and just found out after posting it. Sometimes I typed too fast and didnt double check it, so make the whole sentence not understandable.....I think what we can do just retype and post it again....

Just remember to preview your message before posting it that way you can edit any mistakes that you have done. Just a small advice for the future.

It is my belief that we do not have edit or delete privileges here because we are compensated for our participation. It does not function the same way as a standard free forum. If you could edit your posts, you could go back and substantially change the content for which you have theoretically already received credit. Also, if we could delete our own posts, we would affect not only the amounts we have earned but also the amounts to anyone that replies to our content. So, once you make a post here, unless it violates the posting guidelines, it remains in the form that you posted it :)

I wish I knew snoopyfan but I don't. For some reason mylot has it set up like this and some of us have sent an email to them requesting to be able to edit it even after we've posted it but so far, it's fallen on deaf ears. However, us old timers, one's who've been on here a while know how to decipher what you meant to say so it's no biggy. Besides, we've ALL made a few typos so we do understand. Don't let it worry you.

In a way it is better this way because it will remind us that we are ordinary human beings, imperfect, and do make the occasional mistake. Making an apology and/or correction after that shows that we are alert to our mistakes, and are humble enough to admit it. It also shows that we are real, and not fakes.

Hello I think we all may have a story to tell when it comes to things like this, when it happened to me I just make sure for no on I read then re-read before I post it really sucks when it happens guess we just have to be careful. Thanks.
