in a relationship, would risk to give it all you got or would you reserve for yourself? how much would you willing to give and to reserve?

I really feel that you should keep something in reserve for yourself as you do not know when something could go wrong actually. It is always better to be safe then sorry.

i mostly hear that as an advice on how to position yourself in a relationship and somehow i understand the truthfulness of it. on the other hand, some would say otherwise for the reason that it's worth taking the risk and learn the lesson the hard way.
