Aren't People Allowed To Celebrate Now?

The article shown on the clickable link will astound anyone who is sporty and likes winning things. Personally, I do not have a problem with anyone enjoying themselves once they have won a medal (as in this case), a cup of some kind..or a Formula One race...and what's shown in the news article will have to be banned at Formula One too if the IOC reprimands the Canadians for this. I think the Chairman of the IOC needs a humour transplant because, clearly, he doesn't possess any! I really can't see a problem with this celebration. Would the IOC still be complaining if it had been men celebrating in the same manner? Probably!! http://news.sky.com/skynews/Home/World-News/Ice-Hockey-Canadian-Womens-Team-Under-Fire-For-Booze-And-Cigars-Celebration-At-Winter-Olympics/Article/201002415560129?lpos=World_News_News_Your_Way_Region_4&lid=NewsYourWay_ARTICLE_15560129_Ice_Hockey%3A_Canadian_Womens_Team_Under_Fire_For_Booze_And_Cigars_Celebration_At_Winter_Olympics

Now, be nice. The poor man was at a pole vault competition a few years ago and he got a stick stuck up his butt. After the stick is removed, maybe he won't need a humor transplant. We don't want to strain the health insurance system if we don't have to...

Sure it wasn't a women's ski jump pole?

from the frozen, humorless look on his face, I'd say it's been up there at least since the last Olympics!

These days there is little to celebrate it seems, so if you have a good reason to celebrate, what the heck, let's celebrate in style

Yeah, the IOC can be quite humorless... perhaps they were worried about spilt champagne mucking up the ice...

Haha! You could be right there you know, implausible as it may seem. It's just like them isn't it? Sad fools!

I agree. Hey, they're young girls and they were EXCITED. o.k. so maybe it didn't look very professional and they should not have done it out on the ice but I think the committee needs a little humor here. It was sort of funny and cute, but not really that distasteful.

I agree with you. The IOC seems to have lost its sense of humour someway along the line...the Canadian contingent should've been celebrating WITH THEM in my opinion. If you can't beat 'em, join 'em I say!

It doesn't bother me, but I don't think I've ever seen a team celebration (men or women) during the Olympics. So it wouldn't surprise me if they are reprimanded.

Personally, I think it's a shame but the poor girls will be made an example of (or at least the Canadian team) and it will take the gloss off their win. It's all been blown up out of all proportion and it's getting to the stage where no-one will be able to do anything. Bring back the 80s I say! In those days people would just laugh it off. The world is slowly being squeezed out of life by the do-gooders who have nothing else better to do but to judge other people's behaviour. So sad!
