1. scan your system for virus 2. Perform scan disk to see weather there is media problem for your hard disk, if so u will require to change it. First take backup so that u do not loose important data. 3. remove all temporary files, clear cash and run system clean 4. do defragmentation. 5. If RAM of your computer is low enhance it to the optimum level.

From your description, it might seem that your computer is slow because your RAM is small. What this means is that if you install too many softwares or programmes onto your computer, or you open too many programmes at once, the computer will lag and take lots of time to process that. Try and check to see if you have a 256MB or 512MB RAM, because those two are pretty low for computers nowadays. I would strongly recommend that you get at least a 1GB RAM. If you are unsure of what RAM size your computer carries, try asking someone who knows or as a last resort, bring your computer to a computer shop. Depending on how much an upgrade will cost, it might possibly be better to get a new computer altogether....

Hmm....in that case, the only reasons I can think of would be either you've got too many programmes in your computer, or you've got a lot of stuff in your Recycle Bin that you need to delete permanently from your computer to free up all the space you need. If these are still not the causes, I think it's best to get a computer professional to help, because I'm not one!

you can check whether the hard disk is propoerly connected inside the computer case. also make sure the screws are tightened enough. if it is really an old pc, hard disk might have become noisy because of too much use, if it is also running slow you should buy a new one. also consider upgrading other computer parts

i think your computer may be a old one . just try to update certain things like the ram . the other reason may be your system may have some virus and it may affect the speed . so try to scan your system with the antivirus or just format the operating system alone . then you download some registry cleaners and clean your registry because if the registry is full it may slow down.

I have experienced this already. It seemed that there were malwares/spywares that was able to sneak into my system. I downloaded spyware terminator and cleaned my computer. Then I went in and downloaded registry fix to eliminate errors. It actually found 1,000+ errors when I performed the scan. After all the errors was repaired, I checked my virtual memory. Adjusted what needs to be adjusted. Those steps actually solved the problem for me. You can always upgrade your ram.

You need install some good antivirus like kaspersky and fully scan your computer. Reasons can be: your computer c disk is to full, you have some trojan or worms viruses. Maybe unistall your windows and than install it.

When mine starts running slow I use a thing called Clean Up, it deletes all the junk that is left behind from downloading or deleting programs, temp files, cookies and anything that should not be on the disc. And I run RegClean, it cleans out the registry also, I do a lot of downloading and deleting and my computer gets clogged up with all this junk. I have a older computer and need a new one just can't afford to lay out that kind of money any more, but my daughter has a new one and it gets the same way, maybe try those 2 things they are free and I like the RegClean as it also lets you remove programs, from the contol panel and not have to open it up also the start menu and from the software programs, it sits on my desktop and when I download some thing that isn't what I thought it was I can just go there and take it out of the system.

There are two possibilities. First, your computer is infected by virus. You can install anti-virus software to kill virus. Second, your computer has been used for a long time and it is full of disk pieces which will slow down the system. You can try formatting the system. It takes a short time and after that you'll have a new system.

What is your processor? How many ram that you have? Actually, for me, the processor and capacity of ram is what you need to increase. If you want to upgrade processor, mother board also recommended to change for more stable performance. Only this part what you need to increase for basic computer. If you want to play game for more performance. I advice that you buy a newer one. For me ATI Raeon HD5770 or Nvidia GTX260. Below than that you will be able to play the new game. But not use a high graphic performance.

The first question would be is do you leave your computer on all the time or do you shut it down when not in use? If its always on a reboot is recommended to try and free up some memory. If that doesn't fix the issue, you may want to do a virus scan on your machine to make sure there isn't anything lingering about. A good freeware version is AVG. You may have to do a little searching on their site to find it but its there. The noisiness on the other hand could possibly be a symptom of your hard drive starting to fail, but there is also a chance that it is not the hard drive you are hearing but instead the fan inside your pc that runs to try and keep all the internal components cool. Worst case, it may be time for a new machine.

I agree with the people suggesting a RAM upgrade. In addition, check how many programs run when you first start up your computer. (I use a program called Ccleaner for this.) Stop any programs you don't need running at the moment. Uninstalling programs you no longer use also helps, if only a little. Doing all of these together will add up to a great increase in speed for your computer. Good luck!
