In my opinion, picking is the more intereting part of travel. In autumn last year, i had the experience of picking grapes, and drank grape wine. Do you have the experience of picking? what kind of fruits do you pick?

my daughter and i enjoy picking strawberries! One in the mouth one in the basket... In the field,we are allowed to bring our own basket or container. We can pick as much as we like and eat as much as we can. We are not allowed though to pick green or young fruits or stamp on them which are logically correct. After picking, we bring them to the counter, got it weighed and pay. At home, i would freeze the freshly washed ones. The supply could last for months. In my native land, i have picked Starapples, Atis, papayas, and climbed guava trees tagging along a pack of salt. I used to sit on the branch & enjoy the fruits w/ a bit salt. When i pick fruits, i can't help but wonder the goodness of nature!

I had a working holiday visa for Australia when I was 20 years old. I was able to work in different jobs in a casual way. Men were allowed to pick fruit and ladies had to pack it. I tried working in a packing warehouse but I really hated it. I would have enjoyed picking the fruit more I think. Therefore I did other work which included children's nannying, factory packing and charity collecting.

In the past, I have been potato, strawberry and apple picking as paid work. Also,my dad used to have a large garden where I would pick peas, beans, brussels sprouts, blackcurrants, raspberries and gooseberries. In my own garden, I just have blackcurrants, raspberries, rhubarb and apples.

We went strawberry picking in June last year. Never in my life had i eaten so many strawberries. My hubby said for everyone i pick, i eat at least three. But they were so awesome, i just had to. It is great and the farmers are such nice people. Even gave me a box full just to say thanks for the help. Ain't that just sweet. TATA.
