Hi it is saterday here, the snow is finally melting and the ground are finally clear. It was a long winter. As you know the policy of canceling your GDI account is you have to make a phonecall. Well, I have been a member since 2007 and absolutely no luck with it. I felt it was time to do something and really try to cancel it. I have paid the monthly fee of $10 each month with a credit card. As I was skyping with a friend in USA she advised me to write to GDI team and ask for a cancel of the account, and if it would not work without a phone cal I would be forced to take leagal acction trhough my credit card. So I sent a email asking them to cancel the account, they sent back that a phone call was required cause of security, well, I sent back and told them I was froced to turn to my credit card company....one day later my account is canceld. My phone company has locked my phone to make phonecall overbroad, as I am in Sweden. That was the reason I could not make a phonecall to cancel my account. So to all of YOU that wish to cancel the account try witn email it may work for you to.

Thanks God we are in the third millenium. I'm glad to inform you that there are lot of voip companies that offers FREE calls to landline numbers in US, and in more than other 40 countries ;) Wish this will help you next time. Anyway, glad to know that you solved the problem. Have a nice time there.

Yes we are in the third millenium : more and more internet providers are blocking UDP ports used for VOIP, and even some countries...

Oh, that's sad. At least in Italy is not that the situation. I used VOIP with the 3 biggest internet providers there. About Romania, the past year I was there, and I was beable to use it. Actually I'm living in China, and till now, thanks to God, I'm beable to use VOIP to call Italy from here. But about france, I've read that Sarky seems don't like so much this media, isn't it? :P

I think that you made the right choice of cancelling your account. I just cancelled my subscription with gdi in my paypal. I never again wish to participate in gdi. I am verydisappointed that I wasted $10.

Hhey thanks for the response. Yes it was $10 fee for each month for almost three years. That was wasted money I did not really could afford. I just regret I never tryed to cancel it earlier.

Good for you for standing up for yourself! Forcing a phone call when an entire business is online is just a gimmick to keep people paying. Even if you had been able to call, I bet they would have done all they could to pressure you into staying with them. I respect those who have made a big success of GDI, but I think the company makes a lot of money off people who pay the fees and get nothing back.

Hello anetteh, It's a good decision for you to cancel your GDI account, good thing it didn't cause you too much. I also canceled my GDI account last year, I think it is not my forte for I am not successful with it. I used paypal to pay for it, what I did was just to change my details to a non working credit card, so I won't have problems with the payment. I also canceled the subscription from my paypal account. Good thing it was that easy. Take care and have fun posting red_amethyst

Same here, I paid thru my paypal account, cancelling my subscription is easier. I honestly don't know how to have success in that GDI. Buying leads from them is worthless too because all of them is nonresponsive.
