I have never went to the movies alone. It would be to boring going by yourself. I would hate doing that. A movie should be enjoyed by two people not just one person. It would be so awquard sit in a movie all by yourself and lonely. I can watch a movie at home by myself but it's different when you go the theater. It an experience you want to share with someone. I really don't know why anyone would want to go to the movies by themselves. It's kind of depressing to that.

yeah. it is no big deal. it is dark inside a movie theater. and u cant talk. everyone is just watching the movie together. i think it is better to go alone. and maybe meet someone afterward for coffee or something. unless u want to go to the movies with ur partner and u plan to hold hands during the two hours there.

Hi tuckersheri. Yes, I've gone to the movies by myself once before. I have to admit, it was a little odd when I first got to the theater, but after the movie started I actually preferred it. It was quite a pleasant experience, to tell you the truth. I got to watch the entire movie without any distractions that can happen when company comes along. Heck, if I didn't mind spending money on myself on things like that I'd go and do it again! LOL You really shouldn't knock it 'til you try it. You never know, you just might like it too! Happy mylotting!

I have been to the movies by my self. I enjoy being by my self at times. I also do not let being by my self, stop me from doing what I want to do. At times I wanted to go to the movies, and there was no one to go with, so I went by my self.

Hi friends, I have never gone to the movies by myself. I have gone other places by myself with no problem. And you would think the movies would be the perfect place to go by yourself. If you go with someone else, you're not communicating anyway because you're watching and listening to the movie. So really why do we go with someone else?? I might just try it because a lot of times I'll get someone beside me saying "what are they doing, where are they going, what's going on now?". Thats just annoying. Cheers, Cheryl

I don't know. I always think that people who go alone are really brave. I'm really shy and awkward and I get panicky on my own in public. I think people who just want to go and enjoy the movie and don't need someone to hold their hand, must be really confident. I wish I had that confidence and independence!

I never went to a movie alone. Like you, i think it would be boring watching alone and I'm scared of the dark. Getting in a dark movie theater would surely scare me out.

I've never been to the movies alone and I don't think that it is something that I am ever going to do. I think it would look like I was a very lonely person and I think that I would feel very funny going to the movies by myself. I've been to the movies with my daughter and I've been to the movies with my friends. I've even gone to the movies with my mother just so I won't have to go alone. I would rather go with a friend of mine or my mother than to think about going all on my own.

I have gone to the movies by myself and no it wasn't depressing. When you are in a theater with a big crowd you aren't alone. Sometimes my friend doesn't want to see the movie I want to. I am still enjoying the movie with other people. I only go to the movies if I can't wait for it to come out on DVD because of the cost of going to the movies. I have the same experience if I am with someone or not. I also see people going alone and I never thought anything of it. I enjoy both with or without.

I find going to movies alone depressing too, that's why I haven't really tried going there Alone. I see to it that I have a friend that can accompany me. I would not enjoy the movie if It's only me.

I dont think I have ever gone to the movies alone. I tend to go with my brother as a monthly outing to bond and get to know each other. It helps give us something to talk about and bond over. We have moved to talking about the deep parts of our lives like struggles we are going through. But going to the movies alone I haven't really done. If there is a movie I want to see I call my brother up and see if he wants to go, if not i ask my friends.

I know it is boring to watch movies alone in the theatre... But there was a phase in my life, when I would like it... I would actually go and buy my own ticket and watch the movie alone... The craziest days of life! My ex had left me then, and I hated company of other humans. I chose to be alone in that time. Not just movies, but I did everything alone... Terrible memories... Thanks for posting.. .

That is the reason I haven’t gone to a movies recently, because no one wants to watch a movie these days. I would want to watch Percy Jackson and the lightning thieves but then no one wants to watch foreign films in the office that is why I will wait until someone upload the full movies on Youtube. I don’t want to watch movies alone, it is sad to watch in the theatre house , dark and cold. Although time passes by you can still be alive inside because the reason is you are there inside because you want to watch and not to talk. I still wants to have someone inside, I want to share my emotions and reaction with someone inside. And I am afraid that some stranger will seat beside me and harm me, because it is really possible. I just want to keep myself safe.

I have two young children at home so I don't get the chance to go to the cinema on my own all that often. If a movie comes on offer and all my friends are busy I am happy to go and see it on my own. That is if I can get a baby sitter. Last year I did go to the movies to see Couples Retreat by myself. It came out on a disk a few months later and I showed it to a friend at home. Yes, it was worth sharing. It is less enjoyable but alright to go to the cinema on my own than with a friend.

Well friend, I'm used to watch movies at theatres both alone and with a company. Watching movies alone doesn't bother me at all. I can enjoy movies at home and cinemas with same pleasure. I don't know how I can do it. Have a nice day.

I also newer went alone and i would never go. But like you i also watch tons of movies alone at home. For some people it's normal that they go alone because it's their job to write reviews. But it's sad when you see some people watching movies alone other than reviewers or it can be annoying if they sit next to you and even smell sometimes.
