Before, in all the fairy tales, the prince will fall in love with the princess. And the prince will fight the witch and dragons to save his princess. But nowadays, the prince would simply make the princess fall deeply in love with him and the princess will do all the fighting. I think that is the reason why fairy tales only exist "once upon a time". Do you agree?

In a real fairy tale, the prince is a jerk and the princess is high maintenance. They only fall in love with each other and marry each other to keep the money in the family. The "Once upon a time" is just that, it was once great, but it's not like that anymore. Little girls, are always fed those fairy tales, and we are always told to find our prince charming, but some girls aren't so sure who prince charming is. Boys aren't sure how to be the prince. To be honest, most boys, most men, do not know how to be real men these days. Then again, many women are finding it hard to do the things we used to, plus have a career and family. It's hard to do have that fairy tale.

That is why fairy tales are fairy tales because they aren't real. No women is ever going to "Mr. Perfect", and does hurt girls when they see the imperfections of the man they love.

Sometimes, fairy tales made me realize how much it strongly shapes girls to find a perfect person for them. When in fact, it's hard to find a prince we usually see in fairy tales. It only makes them hope more and eventually get hurt when they see the imperfections of the man they love.

Well, I guess that's why fairy tales are called fairy tales, not reality. Perhaps in that era of princes and princesses, it was how they perceived true love. Nowadays, true love is defined in so many perspectives, and most of it are unbelievable to the right minds. The princess did not remain a princess.

True love works in mysterious ways. That's how it really goes.

Hi my friend uniqueorn, I can 75% agree on you... In most cases, city love stories might be that way... but back in the province, fairy tales are still existing... but I don't want to live there, I enjoy myself more in the City... it is just somehow I am indirectly telling you that I choose not to live with the fairy tale hahaha.

Oh yes! There is a big difference between city love stories and the fairy tales. Though, I don't think that fairy tales do exist in provinces. Maybe, by the thoughts of women or ideally speaking. But as in the plot goes the same, never.

In my honest opinion, it is alright to wish upon some fairytales or imagine yourself defended by your dearest prince. It is a way of motivating yourself to see the chance or possibility of being loved. What's wrong with hoping anyway?

hmmm :) I think you are right and fairy tales do really exist once upon a time. maybe they change just because the present "princesses" have changed alot since the days of the old good fairy tales. now the kids want some more action and something not so traditional :)

Exactly. The evolution of the woman's personality has allowed men to change their perceptions in women. As once upon a time, all women look equally to a man's eyes. They are very conservative, preserved and reserved. They always wait for men to offer their hearts. They often wait for the official proposal before they say "Yes". But women nowadays are totally different and varied from each other, those who make the first move, those who follow the traditional way a woman moves, those who do not find ways for love to let it in and many more. These are results of how women fought for their freedom with the thought in the past that equal rights were not given to women.

We all have our "once upon a time/s" Couple A might say... once upon a time when you fell in love with me, you were willing to go through the pains of hell just to be with me.. and then after some time -- that was a long time ago. Just once in my lifetime. Couple B might say "once upon a time you used to help me with the laundry.. but now all you do is sit with your newspaper..." A long time ago. Once upon a time --- we thought fairy tales are can be lived throughout our lifetime, but it's not, it happens but Once upon a time. =p
