This name always has a lot of meanings to others. It is really alarming to other religions about the origin of Jesus Christ.

Jesus was a man, and he was a son of man. Mathew:12:40: For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. Mathew:16:27: For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works. Mathew:18:11: For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost. Bible describe Jesus as 'son of man' many times when compared to usage of 'son of God' The word 'son of God' has been used in Bible for previous prophets. 'The begotten son' has been used for other prophets in Bible. Then what is so special about Jesus as a 'son of God'? John:5:30: I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me. In many languages you can see the usages like 'son of' and 'father of' to denote the relationship rather than the literal meaning. For example in Arabic, the word 'Abu' means 'Father'. There was a companion of prophet Mohammad, he was known as 'Abu hurairah' which means 'Father of kitten' which does not mean he begotten a cat, rather it means he loves cats and he is a man more related to the cat. In the same way the usage 'Son of God' came from the mistranslation from the very old snippets of scriptures found of Bible of ancient languages while actually not knowing the language usage phrases. Bible available today are the translations of the translations of the translations of different varying texts. The the usage 'son of God' is a translation error, which probably mean to say that the 'man of God' or 'man relating to God' which only mean a 'Prophet' of God. By saying begotten son of God is a big insult to God, God the almighty having the attribute of his silly created animals. in the same way we insult others 'son of a dog' as dog is not a human. Which also nullifies his uniqueness and independence of God. May Almighty God guide us to the right path. Peace.

From what I have been taught and I am Catholic and I am not a expert in all of my Catholic history. I will try and answer it the way it was explained to me. Jesus came down to Earth in the form of Man. He is also God and the Son of God. God, Jesus and The Holy Spirit are The Holy Trinity. All three are one and the same. The Holy Spirit is living inside of us guiding us to as best as we can be like Jesus the son of God. Jesus is now sitting at the right hand of His father. One day and no one knows when Jesus will return and lead us home to our Heavenly Father. He came down here in human form to sacrifice his life for all of us to be saved. Have you ever seen The Passion Of The Christ? It is the only movie I have seen about Jesus. It is taken from the Bible and it is excellent. You may want to rent it and have a little more understanding about Jesus. I am not sure what you religion is and I hope I am not offending you. I know there are some religions that don't accept Jesus as The Messiah. If I offended you in any way I am sorry. Just answering from what I was told by other Catholics. Peace to you
