back in the early 90's i was bought a computer that was an macintosh/apple and it was a nightmare to use! it was just an overly priced piece of crap and then 10 plus years later i worked with imacs and they werent horrible but not better than any other pc in my opinion (unless i guess maybe graphics editing or something from what i hear) so when the whole ipod, iphones and ipads came out i was like "oh no".. i admit i want an iphone but do not want anything to do with that company in fear that their crappy and fickle technology will not be better in that and not to mention it wont work with my cell carrier.. the ipods i find a total waste of money and bought an mp3 player for like a 1/4th of the price and very happy.. the ipads i dont know enough about to know if i even want one but all i know is that i dont want anything with apple or mac but yet the iphones look so cool.. i got a blackberry instead but its been a piece of crap (the model has a lot of probs) but i just cant get the fact of who makes them out of my mind.. have you avoided buying an item because of its brand association? even though they are all the rage or something that looks really cool? are their any other mac/apple haters out there that are avoiding all their products like i am?

I won't buy one because I'm a lazy cheapskate & don't like that junk. If i want to make a call, I'll pick up a regular phone. There's always one nearby. I don't need all those extra apps & all & I don't text. If I want to listen to music I'll turn on the radio , one of the music channels on the TV or put a CD in my computer. No download required! Seriously, I don;t need to be THAT connected. What's next plugging ourselves in?

I am not going to judge a company by someone else's experiences. If I had bad experiences myself with Apple, then I would agree with you. However, I have no experience with Apple, and you're the first person I've talked to who has complained of perpetual bad experiences.

I'm not all that fond of Mac. And I never really have been. Apple in general is a step behind when they think up products. I mean seriously. Ipad.... their next new toy. I can already see the problems with that, just from the demo on youtube. Please there are better products out there for the blind that are better in comperison then apple-based products. Yes, I'm not fond of Apple and feel they should quit while they are a head.

im just hoping that their NON computer stuff is better working than their computers because i swear if i paid a crap load for an ipod or iphone and it acted how their pc's did i would murder some one!! yeah i never got why people liked them as computers since they are so limited and behind in the times and twice as much as any others (or at least they used to be)

I care not for the brand, but the functionality. I never used any Apple products before I bought the 1st-gen iPod Touch, is just what I needed, and I have no reason not to buy it because is from a brand I didn't know. Apple products are not for everyone, as is intended that way. Every product has their traget audience, Apple is for those who knows the brand inside out, and understand what to expect from this company. If you like a brand it will be your favourite no matter what the product gonna be, if you don't like the brand, even the best product in the world won't catch your eye. Is all about personal preference, as well as brand image. Sometimes two identical items delivered by two different companies can have complete different results. In the world of business, the brand image is becoming more and more important than the product itself, and compies are trying to get their names on tops of everyone's mind. There is no right or wrong brand, there are brands for general population, and there are niche-focused brands. Every person got their own preference, and there is always a brand that suits an individual's taste.

if i hadnt had to work with them then yes i would agree it would be more of a personal preference but when there are 2000 computers and a 1/3 of them are macs and 90% of those are screwed up constantly then theres a pattern you cant not notice even if you loved them.. not to mention they are so behind on the times unless its graphics stuff..

My first computer was McIntosh. Since then, I went through 3 different Macs, last one being IIsi. That was teens of years ago & I loved all 3 of them. But it's been a long while since the last time I've used one, I don't know if they've gotten worse or better. If they are as good as I remembered, then I wouldn't mind getting another one. Unfortunately, because of my work, I have to stick with one I have, which I don't mind. I like non-Macs, too. As far as their other products go, I have I Pod with 160gig. I like it. I'm not a professional DJ or anything. I don't need it to do anything other than play one song at a time. I don't need to put tons of apps on it like you can with IPod touch. I bought it for sole purpose of listening to music. I think it does it well. Then there is I-Phone. I generally have had fairly good experiences with Mac products. I think everybody deserves one flop every so many years. I think I-Phone was Mac's version of flop. But everybody have different needs. It may serve some people's needs, just not mine. So when I say flop, that only refers to my personal preferences. I've used all 3 versions of it, first generation, 3g, and 3Gs & hated all of them. And I've used them long enough to know I didn't like them. I know some people knock Iphones only after using it for 1 - 2 weeks but for me, it's been little longer than that. I have t-mobile myself. About 2 years ago, due to the changes of my position in my work, I needed to get a smart phone. Ones that can handle internet & emails. I was just out of trial period with T-Mobile so I couldn't get out of the contract without paying $200 for early termination fee. Fortunately, my friend works for a place that sells cell phones. He changes his cell phones like some people change their hair colors. He was going on his vacation & he lend me his iphone. Used it for few weeks & didn't like it at all. Call quality wasn't that great. It was dropping calls in places where my tmobile phone worked fine. Thought it was AT&T coverage issue. Until my co-worker told me he didn't have any problem with his AT&T phones, non-Iphone. When my friend returned, gave him his iphone back & went out & bought myself blackberry pearl 8120. I'm not saying blackberry is the best thing since sliced bread. I'm saying it worked for me better than Iphone did. Then Iphone 3G came out. Buddy of mine called me up & started to tell me how he loves his 3G I-Phone. Funny thing is, it took him 4 phone calls to do it. Call just kept getting dropped. Blackberry pearl 8120 through t-mobile has option to link to a wireless router & make VOIP calls. I know it wasn't my phone or signal issue on my end. But regardless, few weeks later, I found out that I needed to travel to different state. I looked up on T-Mobile's website & found out that the coverage in that area wasn't too good. But AT&T showed really good coverage. I called my buddy up & asked him if I could borrow his phone. I did bring my blackberry with me as well, just in case. I checked in the hotel & tried making a call to find out the direction to this place where I supposed to go, nothing!!! Thought it was the building I was staying in so I went downstairs to the front desk only to find out one of the girl behind the desk was using AT&T phone. So I looked at my buddy's I-Phone & what do you know? No signal. I knew it wasn't AT&T's coverage, I knew it wasn't the building. Had to be the phone. So unfortunately, again, I had to pay $5/night to use their wifi signal so I can link my blackberry phone from tmobile to their router. I'm not complaining about $15 I spent on those 3 days I've stayed there. It was just that all the annoying stuff I had to go through with phones. I kept having to look for any book stores or coffee shops that offered free wifi for me to make phone calls. Not too long ago, he lend his 3Gs phone to me & I've used it for few weeks & it seems to have improved, whatever they did. But still having to deal with dropped calls was annoying. I've never had that issue with Tmobile & blackberry. I've recently went out & bought blackberry 9700. I know tmobile has few holes as far as national coverage goes. But 90% of the times, they've been really good to me. I've never had phone problems when I know the coverage wasn't the issue. If tmobile had coverage in certain areas, my blackberry worked, not like AT&T & their I-Phone.

I already have the ipod touch, and I am not getting the iphone, as I am with Verizon and they won't be getting it. I am not conerned about the ipod being an apple product. I bought it for the apps, and not for the fact it is an apple product. I like the ipod tuch, and I do use if form time to time. Like I said I bought it for the fact it has lots of apps, as there are plenty of apps to choose from. I do download and install a lot of free apps on the ipod, but the fact it is an apple product has never concerned me. I know I iwll never be with AT&T though, as I don't care for them at all. Take care, and have a very good day.
