Police arrested a 14 year old boy from the California Crittenden middle school. His crime was during a football game he angrily throw a football at an opponent football player. In a normal world this would be penalized by a 15 yard penalty, except here where you go to jail. For the record the teenager who the ball was thrown at was not hurt but what does that matter.

I think the principal of that middle school really "dropped the ball" on that one. I agree with you, it's called unsportsmanlike conduct punishable by a 15-yard penalty. Are they making up their own rules now, or what?

It seems like there has to be more to the story... If it's as reported here, it is ridiculous. The boy should have been thrown out of the game for unsportsmen-like conduct. I wouldn't have suspended him from school, but as his parent, I would have grounded him for some time to come, whatever it took...

It does seem that the school's administration and the police went overboard on this one. I could understand suspending the boy from school for a couple of days but arresting him? Unless there's a lot more to this story, it's ridiculous.
