New iPods/iPhones, And Old Computers

One more in my endless stream of iPod/iPhone questions.
I was wondering about something else.
What if I Sync a new iPod touch with my computer, and then my computer falls apart, and i get a new computer? If I want to add or remove songs from my iPod touch, will it affect the entire iTunes library on the iPod?
My computer is very close to literally falling apart, and although the inner hardware and software work just perfectly, the physical structure is not long for this world.
Anything else I should know about old iPods and new computers?

back up the storage just in case. adding it to a different computer usually wont work but gl

Hi danish. For starters, you should always backup your itunes library if you can, that way if your computer does fall apart you still have access to your itunes library or music. Or at least print some form of proof that it's your music, or contact apple. Now, when you sync your ipod, you can drag new songs onto it from the itunes regardless of the computer, and you won't lose your old songs. But if you sync your ipod the normal way you will end up losing all the music on your ipod. There is no way to add music to your computer from the ipod though.

Thank you!!! I was definitely planning on backing it all up, I just wondered about the computer change.
A question about what you said though. you mentioned syncing my iPod vs. synking it the normal way. What is the difference? What is the way that I would sync it so i don't lose things, and can add and delete songs at my will, vs. the "normal" way where it's either all or nothing?

if you have iTunes, you can play with your iPod
doesn't matter what computer, I've updated it on both mine and the roomie's computers - the ONLY reason on my old computer I couldn't do it was because the poor old thing was just that - too old - opening iTunes would grind it to a halt!
Just remember, while you can take tunes off the iPod/Phone, but you can't put them BACK on the computer - you basically lose them
so, just make sure you back up your music by putting them on discs or something so you have them
