Anyone have a close shave or near death experience to share? Something that totally changes your approach to life and appreciate it more.! i used to be a commercial diver some years back ,,not only offshore but sometimes we do small jobs inshore also, once i was called to recover some very expensive machinery worth thousands of dollars from inside a pumphouse that had been flooded when an adjacent riverbank at a higher level next to it had burst and created a small lake submerging pumphouse in 8 metres depth, job was to just dive in and enter the pumphouse ,latch a lifting cable to machinery and let the crane lift it out of the water, and since its zero visibility ,i needed to tie a guide rope around me for safety n guide me in and out, tore off zinc roof to make entrance n used my hands to feel my way in looking for the machinery to secure the cable to,had limited air supply coz using a scuba tank, hands were my eyes and guide rope was my lifeline, took a while to find the machinery and had gone deep into d pumphouse quite a bit,but b4 i kud tie guide rope to it ,both ropes including my own lifeline to exit had snagged onto some sharp heavy debris inside and was cut off and i was stuck inside pitch dark confined environment wif about 10 mins of air supply, and no guide rope or anything to lead me back to the exit on the roof which i had made to enter the pumphouse with.. Imagine you are in a confined underwater environment in pitch dark conditions and your breathing apparatus gets more and more difficult to suck air into your lungs as your air supply runs less and less..and you are frantically trying to look for the exit with your hands coz you cant see a thing, debris floating all over,Long story short, after desperate attempts and sure i was a goner, somehow i managed to blindly navigate thru debris up to just a small patch of the roof where i could smash my through with a 2 by 4 i found floating by with almost no air left in my tank.. it is still the scariest experience i ever had,so sure i was going to suffocate and drown .. Just heard on the radio from a guy relating his life changing experience to deejay,he was in a hit and run accident and was in a coma for 2 years, and when he came out of his comatose state,he didnt realise 2 years had past, could vaguely remember his accident but seemed like just few days ago.. Realising you were so close a goner once and living to tell the tale does give you an added zest for living and be more appreciative and really really feel and understand what 'be thankful' means..!

i used to be a spoiled brat person that whatever i want my parents must give or there will be trouble. way back 1999 when i suffered sever depression and insomnia, it was those time that i was forced to stop my study due to financial problem, i was very disappointed that time and so i go hunger strike, they just ignore me at first but it become 3 days already that i did not take any food not even water and so on the third night i cant move my body nor talk as they though im just sleeping, but my mind is not as i wanted to speak up and move, what i did that night was called every saint and of course god to give me strength and to let my mother know my situation. then in the middle of the night i heard my mother lying beside me as she said she cant sleep in their room. and so i heard a woman voice and tell me to pray the rosary, i dont know if its from my mom or not but i dont know how to pray rosary but my mom know so i tried to talk, my mom says that she heard me saying pray rosary and so she tried to wake me up but i didnt, she just heard moaning, she wake up my father and brother that time i keep on saying rosary. then my mom prayed the rosary and while praying i started to feel heat in my body and i started to move. i still cant walk but i just told my mom to continue praying. i went down stair and i saw my father and brother sitting, i told my father that i want to eat. they prepare food for me but i just vomit it, my mouth and stomach did not accept it. and so they rushed me to hospital. when we reached there i collapsed then next thing was i only heard them talking but i cant move again. during those days in the hospital, i have intervention with god, i prayed a lot to and be sorry for everything and once i survive i will be a different person already. then just for 1 week i completely healed like nothing happened.
