my first website has launched ,but how could I promote it ?

I am from China, now I have built a website that introduce Chinese information to the foreign friends,it is purely for the interest of making friends with friends far away from my country,the website is built through asp.net technique all by myself, it is simple, in fact, I have built the website with much more functions, but When I set them on the internet, many exceptions often occur ,it makes me hard to develop my website,after having a second thoughts , I decide to launch the website just using the pages with basic function ,step by step, I will add more function to my website.
But , the trouble is that I am not good in promoting my site,I can't find much foreign friends ,maybe I should learn more technique about promoting sites such as SEO ,Can someone give me some advice to make my site get some true free foreign traffic.Ofcourse , I will try my best to post more content to update my site.

Can't open your website! I better like website's on Hltm and Css. Ofcurse the best option is the php but it is hard to codec it. If you download completed php source it's not like coding and there are so many bugs. The best trafficexcgange where you can
promote your website is startxchange!

thank you for viewing my website,maybe the connection is not stable, but at most of time it can always be opened , you can try it now , all the codes are programmed by myself using asp.net , not php source, I found many foreign sites
like to use PHP , in China , We like to use asp, asp.net or jsp .Ofcourse bugs also exists but I will try to update and correct them.

Keeping the site up-to-date is good. But, you can also place it on many search engines. Some hosts have a tool that will send the information out to the top search engines world-wide. Try telling friends and family and post it on social networking sites. That will help you as well.

hi, congrats for new site, there are not many chinese sites in english, you have made a new one, good.
to promote it goto different forums and talk about your site and leave a link. what ever new post you add on your site, digg it on digg.com, or add it to reddit.coim, delicious.com and twitter

great. Congrats on your new website. I don't know much but like everyone else said you can promote it in facebook. I have a blog but it's not very interesting so I don't promote it. LOL.

Hello and well done to your on your new website. If it is a site based on friendships then I think your first corse of action should be to promote through places like facebook. You should also look at become active in forums which will help you to promote your website but also meet new people. Join in forums that fit your niche but also join in with forums that appeal to you too.
