hai mylotter!! i guess that estern and western people have a diferent perception about cool skin color.. many eastern struggle to lightent their skin color.. but western people who's got white skin prefer brownish skin rather than white,, so they always go to beach to make their skin darker.. so in which side are you??

I don't like being to warm, so I never go in for getting brown in the summer. And I very easily get burned, so I usually put on something with at least sun factor 30. If it's a nice summer, I usually get a tan but I don't really prefer tanned to not tanned. Except when it's so not tanned that it seems blue, bluish skin is a bit too white in the summer. A lot of people here go to sun studios in the winter, I think it's seems a bit weird to have a tan in the winter. It's not a lot of sun, and it's too cold to go outside without clothes anyway, and you'll risk getting skin cancer. I definitly prefer normal white skin to too much sun studio or too much fake brown (tanning spray etc.), people often get an orange tone that isn't really very flattering on anyone.

I'm in Norway so most people here are quite fair skinned. I don't know how many stress about tanning, certainly not all, but quite of few teen-agers do. I think many people have become aware of the danger for cancer when you use a sun-studio, so they use tanning spray if they can afford to.
