I do have a temper and have to work at keeping in in check. It takes a lot to make me angry BUT if I get mad then my temper can take over and I have to walk away and calm down

Glass of water...start counting from one to ten...and then i think of this phrase that loosing your temper for small issues is nothing but a freaking disease and then i calm down as i cant go ahead proving myself that i'm suffering from that disease.great day.

I experienced this scenario many times in my life, losing my temper and eventually losing valuable things around. These happened particularly during my "depression" period. But I came to realize that it always leads me to destruction so I tried my best to control the situation every time it happens again.
Actually I found it easy to do, I just keep silent for more than 15 minutes and that's it. I'm not angry anymore after this time duration.
Just let your mind stay away from the present situation. Think of anything not relevant to the topic that triggered your anger.
You will realize later that you are already out of the quarrel and you have this cool temper calming you down.
