Do You Suck your own blood when you get cut?

Ok just another random question that I thought about when I read the word "cut" in one of my discussions :) When I was a kid I used to do that but when I get older I usually wash it with water. I dddoooon't like alcohols!! They're so painful so I prefer to wash them with tap water instead :) But have you done this once? And do you still do it now that you're older? :D

Since young I do not suck my blood whenever I get a cut, as I think it's terrible to taste blood and I cannot imagine the taste of it. So the first thing to do is to quickly wash the wound with lots of water or running water from the tap, to clear away the dirt, and discourage the growth of bacteria. After that I would apply pressure to the wound and apply iodine or antiseptic to stop the bleeding. Then I can apply the plaster and bandage if necessary.

Though painful as it is, but i like the feeling!! lol =D

When I was young I did this thing. I learned to suck my blood for first aid from my parents. Only for small cuts and bruises but for big one I cannot think whats the best for it.It can help blood stop bleeding and you will feel comfortable than having it bleed. After that find herbal leaves to tap in the cuts. Until now I still used what I have learned before.

I admit it, I will suck a cut if its on my hand or finger. I don't know why, just as soon as I cut myself, the finger/hand is in the mouth. lol. When I was a kid, though, I had a friend who use to suck her blood. I remember we were playing and she scraped her knee. Instead of letting me get an adult to help her, she sat down and started sucking on her knee. She said she didn't want to lose any of her blood and that was her way to recycle her blood. we use to jokingly call her a vampire. lol.

When I was a kid, I believe that sucking your blood will recycle it and be in your system again. haha. But, as I grow older, I knew that sucking your blood will not recycle your blood but it will take part in your digestive system, like drinking a tomato juice. Eventhough, I still suck my blood. lol.

of course not, it is dirty, though the saliva have disinfect quality, it contain some anti-bacteria agent, but when you sucked your cut, you put a lot of bacteria in your mouth, i think there is better way instead of sucking your wound.

No, I usually just clean it up and put abandage on it. I do find it a bit gross to suckblood. And sadly for vampire wanna -be tweens, sucking your own blood does not make you a vampire.

Hi there, I don't suck the blood whenever having any cut on my fingers or hand. May be I dislike the fishy smell of the blood. There is a first aid case in my house. In my remembrance my dad took out the disinfectant, gauze square, plaster as well as scissors from the small white rectangular box with a red crescent on it when seeing the new cut on my little finger. I felt easy to see him to deal with my wound step by step using the stuffs from the first aid box patiently. Since then I know the right way how to cope with cut either on my own or others instead of sucking the cut Happy posting and have a nice day

I have never sucked my own blood...not even as a child. I really don't like seeing blood anyway and I surely wouldn't want to suck it. If I start bleeding I will get kleenex or paper towels or something to try to stop the blood and then clean it with some water and then put a bandaid on it.

Whenever I get a cut or a wound, I don't really suck at all. Even though they say that it really helps, I just don't do it. I can't recall any memory of my childhood doing that either. I either wash it with water or apply betadine

Hello! Cecillecarmela! This is the most weird and funniest question I've read in a while! Hahaha. Well I guess some religions would say its against their believes! When i'm bleeding and I'm not at home, yes I do because I've heard it helps stop it, but I think its not very healthy to do that! When I'm home I use a cotton until it stops and then wash! As kids I think many did this, but now it is a little bit disgusting! Have an excellent time here on mylot! Libna. Bye bye Cecillecarmela!

Hmm.. that kind of action could purely be reflexive, I,ve seen my friends doing it and when i asked, they just reply by saying that they just did it because it came naturally, for me every time i cut my fingers i try to put pressure on it as if the wound is going to seal up that moment when i press and hold them together lol. Nevertheless its an interesting topic that i came across for the 1st time .

Yep, I still suck my own blood especially when it’s going to flow and possibly drip on something. Of course this is only till I can wash it and cover it up and has nothing to do with that I actually like the taste of my own blood .... hee hee.

Yes, when I was a child. I got too caught up in the fantasy world of vampire and tasted my own blood after an accidental cut from a ken knife. But after I grew up, I don't really think I would want to it again. Just don't think it taste that good afterall these years of other junks which tasted better than some warm, saltish-like taste. I think my potato chips seems better than my blood. So I won't do it unless out of circumstance that made me have to do that...
