whether in writing an article or any material our discussion on myLot must mention the source of our writing? yes, I know and understand that we all have to respect the copyrights of others, but in the context we just want to convey, and only wanted to discuss, whether the reference to the source material that the discussion becomes important thing? I do not think it should be, right? if only quoting below 10% of a source text, I think, is not a form of plagiarism and the Internet anyway, we found lot of writing articles that do not mention the original quote

If we take even a small part of another article, no matter how small, it is NOT our own original work. It pertains to someone else therefore we must refer to the source otherwise it is plagiarism/stealing/theft. This is not the case only here on myLot but anywhere else too. Otiginal work is just that, otiginal, but if we use phrases created by others then it is no longer original. Just because you find many writing articles that do not mention the original quote does not make it right not to do so. Just because someone drives the wrong way up a one-way street makes it right for you to do likewise?
