Do you bring books or laptop when you go for a long journey?

I usually bring books when i have a long journey,It ease my boredom when i travel in a long distance places for a few hours or even a day.Reading books in a journey is a good time killing when spending lots of time for travel..Now a days most people brings their laptop instead of books I bring along my laptop too,but i cannot replaced books to laptop because in some remote area when internet is not available i still have to read my books,..
How about you guys? Are you fond of reading books when go for long journey?Or you prefer your laptop with you.?

i solemnly take some comic books collection and a music player when i m supposed to travel for a long distance..
I'm not interested in laptop, i'm not going to do any program when i'm travelling until it is necessary , so i prefer reading comic books and listening to music..

i did not say comics, i said comic books...comics doesn't have anything to do with comic books...They both have extreme different meanings

Yes, i am very much fond of reading book while traveling.I am fond f reading books on self development, positive thinking, motivational books etc. I also enjoy reading books on management. These kind of books i carry with me whenever i have to travel.

I prefer bringing books because they are definitely lighter compared to bringing a laptop, specially if you're trying to travel light. I love books cause you just won't get bored with reading them. Though I can't really read a book while I'm in a car, so I just listen to music. But I read a book when I'm travelling by plane, or just waiting for my transpo..

I usually don't bring eaither unless I'm going to spend the night at a hotel. Normally if I'm traveling a long distance, George is driving me in the truck, and we talk. But, if we stop to spend the night I usually have my laptop so I can chat with friends and get some work done. After all there is so much we can talk about. Though George, just like my dad was, loves telling me where we are along the rout.

I seldom reading books because i always feel sleepy when i stared to read it lol. I probably prefer laptop for a long journey to ease my boredom and i love surfing, downloading softwares and use my yahoo stuff as well. Happy lotting and GBU.....

It's a good idea to bring books for a long trip. However, it may sound embarrassing, but I actually get carsick if I read a book when traveling. I envy others who has a strong stomach and can read in a moving motion. I would love to read books, but because I get easily carsick, I kill time by bringing my ipod and listening to music instead.

Sad to know that my princess(motion sickness) is that what its called?I'm not sure about how it calls but I suggest take anti drowsy pill(tablet) in common 30 minutes before taking any transportation and don't make your self full when you are planning to go for a trip.And here's a tip to avoid having a severe motion sickness.Sit in front where there is less movement and better visibility.Traveling at night when there is less visual stimuli.Also good ventilation,loose comfortable clothing and a light meal also help.I'm basing on my own experienced i have the same fear of travel but these tips helps me gets through to it.

Thank you for the helpful advices cloud! ;) Yes I do them and it helped my carsickness. I can travel long trips without feeling sick. However, the sad thing is, it can be triggered by reading in motion. :( As much as I love to read, I don't do it to prevent me from getting motion sickness.

When I travel I take a book and a magazine with me. Then I can read these and enjoy the content. I think that books can be bought at the airport, at large train station and at large bus stations. Often the prices can be high so therefore I buy the book and magazine in my local town. Now I have a net book and mobile broadband I can take it away with me when I travel. I leave my laptop at home to use their with wireless broadband. When I travel to Canada this summer I will take my net book with me and then I will be able to use the Internet.

Yah net book is very convenient to bring along during travel.Laptop is quiet heavy compare to net book if not in slim size, now net book appears to be lighter and smaller than those laptop available in the market.
Now most establishment provides a free internet connections via wifi and its very convenient to connect and have you enjoy surfing when traveling.

when i started to know about internet i seldom books already so most of the time if i go out for a long vacation i rather want to bring my laptop so i can chat with my friends also. besides i can use my laptop while traveling inside the bus or while waiting at the airport since theres wifi if none then i have USB broadbnd with me that i can use anytime anywhere but only here in my country

I can't read on a vehicle, it makes my head hurt. What I do is I convert a movie so that it can play on my phone and then watch it while traveling. It helps to pass time on a very long trip.

hi there,good to hear from you again! you can't read but you can watch.Lol..you kidding huh!Anyway its a good choice, next time you travel i suggest bring along your DVD player and asked the driver play in their TV set so that you can share with all the passenger,huh noctrun..Kidding. hahaha.

hi cloud31! NO, i never take a laptop or some books with me when I am on a trip, no matter how long it will last, because I am going on it because I want to relax from my daily round and see something new and interesting. and the laptop and the books I ca always have when i come back!

Yah some people does it just they want to enjoy the ride nothing but looking out of the window and looking around what interesting scenery they can see for long trip.

Yes I bring both during my trips. thanks to modern technology traveling is more fun. I use my ipod a lot though to watch movies during the trip. its handy and lightweight.

Yah iPod is what that called brings the whole set of entertainment with you during your trip.Books and laptop will be alright but not as convenient like iPod.

hey cloud31! :) when am off to long trips, usually i prefer both! but mow-a-days, i download books online too so i take my laptop with me so that i can browse, go on fb,mylot and various other sites too! :) plus i can be in touch with my friends too!! :)

I always take my laptop, reading material and writing material too actually, whenever I travel...If the getting from point A to point B is goin to be long then I need soemthing to occupy me, and if I'm goin to be away from home for a few days or more I like to have that stuff with me for when I have down time...

I always have a book with my when I travel. I can't face a long trip without having a good book to read, and you don't have to rely on internet connections or batteries failing like a laptop

I used to bring books when I will be in a long trip. But now, I just bring my Nook. It is more practical. I also bring my laptop or my iPad at times so that I won't get bored. Besides, I am pretty sure that I will be using them the moment I reach my destination.

I would bring both. I bring my laptop because I like playing games when I get bored and hopefully my journey has electricity.. if not then I will resort in bringing a book and usually a book about WW2 stories or any war books. yeah I'm a war fanatic. ^^,

Interesting,that's really make sense when you are a book lover.Books at any kind would be interesting if journey is long.I just don't know if you fall into asleep during your trip otherwise books will be the second choice.hehehe.

I often travel alone so i bring books or my tablet to accompany me and ease my boredom. When i travel with bus i will turn on my ipod and listen to music while enjoy the scenery, I like enjoy the scenery outside but if I travel by train which usually at night then I would read or browse (but sometime it is hard to browse the net while on train because sometime there is no network coverage).
