if anyone looking at sehwag's record then they might say he is gonna break the 200 run barrier.but sadly it wont happen. first of all,the sehwag we see in test matches is way different from the sehwag of ODI.the test sehwag is more carefull yet agressive player but the ODI sehwag wants only one thing.a very quick start.and seriously,a batsmen can be agressive but he also have to have some luck in his favour to remain not out while playing for 50 overs.tendulkar did it with ease. may be it will be good to remove the tag that only a very aggresive batsmen can break tendulkar's record because to me it is neither sehwag nor muccullum or gayle or afridi or whoever u can come up with. only a sensible batsmen who knows when to play his shots and when to slow down the gear and play the ball according to its merit can score it. at the moment there is no one like it in present cricket.

hey who am i ? a fellow mylotter.you dont have believe me but hope you can believe the words of great indian players like sunil gavaskar or ravi shastri. everytime sehwag performs well or didnot perform well, gavaskar made it his habit of saying PLAY odi MATCHES AS TEST MATCHES AND HE WILL BE MORE USEFULL AND SUCCESSFULL.NOTHING MUCH CAN BE ACHIEVED BY QUICK FIRE 30s AND 40s. by that he means in test cricket, sehwah uses his defense every time during one of those 150 + and 300 + innings but he never has patience in ODI matches as if he is going to catch the next train to delhi. it was obvious from his statistics. out of 221 matches he played, only 7 times did he manages to play a minimum of 100 balls. compare it with tendulkar who in his 450 matches, went pass 100 balls more than 63 times. both were openers. if gavaskar's assumption that a player has to stay a minimum of 45 to 50 overs to break tendulkar's record and sehwag is never in the picture my friend.

Friend i think sehwag doesn't require to wait for 45 to 50 overs to breaks this record if he is on the pitch upto 38 overs..he will make it...and about defensive batting when he reach near 150 and 300 he always make it by hitting either six or four.. in test or in odi several times...might u haven't see when he reach near 150 or 300...ok u don't rely what i'm saying than wait for one years u will got the answer of it... And don't show me the statistics i think i have better knowledge then you I don't take the help of internet to make out the statistics as u do...i'm a district player and i'm crazy about this game...in 11Th standard i deny to give the annual exam because of world cup...then u think how crazy i'm.... "SEHWAG IS THE ONLY PLAYER IN THE WORLD WHO IS CAPABLE TO DO SO..." - SINGH

I think you were the first person to whom i heard that sehwag player differently in odi and test matches...i think u didn't see his batting more cautiously...and about nature of batting..a aggressiveness is very much needed along with perceptible...the mixture of this two having in sachin batting that's why he reached 200 runs...and i think apart from sehwag the name you have mentioned didn't make 300 runs even once times in test matches...So saying sehwag is only aggressive is not true..Making 300 runs three times it is not possible with having aggressive nature only..So think about it my friends...keep my lotting...have a nice day...

I think we should not be surprised if sehwag on his lucky day even reaches 300 in odi's because he deals in 4's and 6's. Two type of batsman can reach 200 one who is extremely talented in batting skills like Sachin, Jayasuriya, Ponting and other who is very aggressive in terms of strike rate and also has his luck favouring him on that day like Sehwag, Afridi, Gayle. Since 200 requires talent+patience+experience first category has more chance to reach this milestone.

Actually I thought that if any one can actually make a double hundred in one day internationals, then it will be Shewag. Very few might have though that Sachin can do it and that also when he is more than 35 now. But he showed the world that he is something other than normal. He played a gem of an inns and created a record that everyone dreams to have. http://onesnapeveryday.blogspot.com/

I also think that Sehwag is one of the best batsmenin the world now.It is evident from the new ICC ranking as he tops the table.I do agree that he is the only batsmen who can break Lara's record but I don't think Sehwag can beat Sachin's record as Sachin is incomparable in the present status.

Yes I do think that someone will cross 200 run in a single ODI but it takes something special to do. What I guess is, if a flat pitch is there and a strong team is playing against a relatively weaker team then the chance is even more. But one needs to apply himself to reach the mark. 199 cannot turn into 200 automatically! One can get out even on the score of 199. Saying that there are some players who promises to score a double century in ODI but their strength is what there weakness too! They are aggressive and they give away wicket in that flow. Sehwag, Brendon McCullum, Dilshan, Warner, Mike Hussey, Gibbs, ABD and some others have every chance of scoring a double century in an ODI. But can they really reach 200 is what the question. Many a times players have faltered nearing that mark. Let us wait and watch!

I agree that Sahewag has potential to make 200 in ODI. But saying that only he can do it, will be undermining many who have reached very near to that mark. Don't u think so?

i dont think so,may be he can. some time it will be done by some other batsman. I think its depends upon the form of batsman at that time and a lot on luck.
