Why Don't People Read the discussion Before Posting?

United States

I am very angry right now. I just started a discussion about getting bonuses and specifically said, do not put in your referral links. What happens, the very first post is someone who puts in their link to join some site. Why don't people read first and then post. Her post had nothing what so ever to do with what I was talking about. Do they not read the rules when they first join a site at all? Has this happened to you? I still can't get over the rudeness of that post.

Maybe they're in a rush and don't feel like reading the important bits, try to be as descriptive as possible in little words

They didn't read any of it. They simply posted a link to a site and that was it. Nothing at all about what the discussion was about. I always read the discussion before posting, otherwise how in the word am I gonna know what they're talking about?

hey kittenclaus, I agree to you completely, i have observed it myself when responding to some discussions, i'm lucky i had not got any such kind of response on any discussion started by me. But i do not understand why peoples are wasting their time, by posting irrelevant stuff they wont get any benefit from mylot either, its better to utilize their time somewhere else.

I agree with you, I'm happy to say their post got deleted and they did not delete my whole discussion.

Report this posting to admin and they will have it removed and the poster will get an email. It's very annoying and frustrating but there will always be people who flout the rules.

I have seen your discussion kittenclaus---she put in a link to a site int he very first response.Admin do not delete(remove) the entire discussion when some one places a referral link in their responses---we shouldn't forget that they're still new in here and never spare some time to read the guidelines.I just reported one discussion of a new comer(also my friend) who was promoting her GPT site(the same one which offers bonuses ).Its just that serious ones learn from their mistakes others make their way out.great day.

Unfortunately some people care about rules and other don't. For some mylot means a lot and they obey mylot rules but others give up on it and don't really care if they loose account. One cannot control other people's behavior. If i could i would make all people like and help each other but you can only work on yourself. I also get angry about people sometimes but you just have to learn to care less.

I think people just go down the line and post without even reading anything. It's sad that other people have to suffer because of one stupid person.

Yes, there are a few My Lotters here who take every available opportunity to post their links. Not only is it not allowed to post links for programs, it went against what your discussion was about. Report this response as abuse and get it removed. There are plenty of people who dont read discussions properly. I think the person who responded to yours had a further aim of promoting her/his links.

Omg, yes, that is so annoying and upsetting when people do that. I've had people do the same thing to me. It's even more upsetting because most times my post will end up being deleted because of their dumb links they've posted. It's also very annoying when people will post a one sentence response to my discussion that has very little or nothing to do with my discussion. I think alot of times people here think that are gonna make money by just posting whatever and that is so not the case.

Such a thing does happen off and on here and there can be different reasons. You know some mylotters set fixed goals for each day and they have to post at a fast speed. So they probably do not have enough time to read carefully each discussion they respond and just scan topics and choose ones they are interested in, then reply directly without reading the details of a discussion.

well a few reasons some of the newer people just come on here and spam and use it to post referral links etc etc even some of the older people seem to just post referral links when they should know better I saw one from a member who had over 4000 posts the other day it soon got deleted after I reported it. Also most people are lazy and don't read the terms and conditions, but that happens in real life how many of us read the small print when you buy something etc etc I think its human nature but easiest way is for people on here to do what the terms and conditions ask of us and that is to report any task or discussion that is spamming or self promoting etc etc tho very few of us do and that is the only way that we can help mylot weed out the obvious spammers, and educate the people who make legitimate mistakes.

It really irritates me when people inaved discussions trying to attract people towards a website they post a link for, with perhaps a single line to introduce it Such people don't deserve to have a mylot account, to be honest, because it is clear they are just here to get more visits to their site.

It has been three weeks since you made this discussion and I have been answering and reading your discussions made earlier since my absence. So far I have not seen one of your discussions with a referral link on it, maybe the admin had already deleted the said response before I even get to read it. I hope by now your not that angry anymore. I have never encountered someone posting a referral link on one of my discussions but I have read some discussions that someone had actually posted a referral link. I hope it doesn't happen again. Have a !

Thank you for this response. Yes the admin did delete the link in my discussion. I'm over being angry now but I do still wish that people would follow the rules and at least read the discussion before responding. This site is so much more then a place to just try to get referrals.

and how about the fact that posting referral links is against guidelines? yeah it's happened, the person gets reported, the reply gets deleted... Still, it's annoying.

I have seen referral links in responses many times, and it is like other users have said, that your discussion won't be deleted as long as it didn't violate the TOS. The one that posted the link will be deleted. I do agree with you though, that so many will not rad the rules before they post anything at all. I get tired of users doing this, as it is happening way to much in here. I think the ones that do that, are only here to earn and nothing more, so they will do what htey want instead of what mylot says they are suppose to do or not supposed to do. I like you am getting fed up with the referral links whether they are in the discussions or responses. I try to help them out even though I know it will deleted. Just hang in there, as it will okay. Good luck to you and happy mylotting.
