Comments about the Racial Protests at UC

United States

Ok, I just read an article about how some students banded together after racial incidents continue to occur on their campus: finding a noose, a swastika carved into a door, a KKK-styled hood found on a statue, and a "compton cookout" to poke fun at Black History Month and black stereotypes which is similar to the "tijuana sunrise" party that occurred a few years back on the same campus meant to mock Mexian-Americans. In a show against intolerance, there was a lunchtime rally on campus. It troubled me to hear that these incidents were occurring, but what really got me were the comments left by readers. There were several who blamed the minorities for this, some say that none of these actions are insulting and one person said that Americans had the right to hate whoever they want so everyone should just let it go. There were more descriptive comments but I'm not gonna get into those. I just wondered what is your take on this.
