Should you feed you cats cheese even though they are lactose intolerant?

I don't think it really hurts them, but it gives them terrible gas!! our cats love cheese though, we just try to keep it to every once in a while. Also, I've heard that it is only male cats that are lactose intolerant... not sure if there is any truth in that or not!

Yeah I'm not sure I just hope it doesn't hurt them in the long run!

I had a cat who loved cheese, she would come running every time I got the cheese out of the fridge, even if I tried to be really quiet, she would still somehow know lol

I admit I do give my cat (and my dog) just a bit of cheese (maybe a slice) once in a great while. I know that diary products can give them diarrhea but I haven't had a problem so far. Maybe because it's only for a rare treat.

I give my cats cheese as well. I was just wondering because I heard otherwise on T.V. but then again you can't always believe what you see on the telly.
