Who/what would you take with you to a desert island?

cliche question I know, but its always interesting to hear what other people would take.
For me I couldn't take a person because logically we would end up falling out and people tend to get on my nerves if I'm with them for too long a time, however if i had to take someone it'd probably be my best friend Amy :)
I would probably take a few good books to read or some food, or maybe a laptop if there was wireless ;)

I think if I would go to a desert island, I would take one of the most obvious things in the world. A way to get off the island as soon as possible. That would be something that would be of use, as I would not want to spend too much time on an island like that.
If I could for some reason not take the obvious, I would take three things. My portable DVD player would be the first of those things. Then enough batteries to run it for a long enough time. Then my entire DVD collection will be the final thing. That way, I have enough to entertain me. However, if I could take a way to get off as soon as possible, then that would it without hesitation.

hi! WEll, if the island is not really a desert 
and there are many things to do, to eat and I can spend my time really good, i think I will take my family or my girlfriend, if I have one, because i want to spend the time there with someone I love. but if the island is really a desert, I mean, there are no animals, no trees, no food, I will take some of my enemies, if i find some :)
