How would you prefer to die - being sick for long time or sudden death ?

This has been the question i have often asked myself during those years while tending to my bedridden mother-in-law. She had a Stroke which slowly took all her strength and she slowly went into Parkinsons disease. I took care of her from mid of 2003 till late of 2007 when she silently passed away in sleep. Watching her in pain & so helpless made me ask this question - how would you prefer to die : with a lingering disease or a sudden death like in accidents or severe heart attack?
There are pros & cons to both way ...i would like to hear your side.

Unfortunately, we don't get to choose. But if I did, it would be quickly (right after I made sure my estate plan was in order; I had said my good-byes; I kissed my family, friends and dogs...) I guess you can't have it both ways, either, huh?

I had a friend who passed away short after it was discovered that she had tumor at the back of her brain. She was feeling all alright up untill that day when she bumped her car by parking. She was not able to focus well she really thought she is parking correctly. The finding was already in its 4th stage and she got only like 3 mos to live. By this time she was able to prepare all her papers and said goodbye to her family & friends. And her Horse.

Quick and painless please. I have seen friends and family members slowly waste away to cancer and other illnesses, I would hate to put that kind of pressure on my own friends and family.

I don't like to die in both situations but if you ask me well I prefer to die in peace. I really don't like accident and I don't like also in long sickness..But if God allow me I would like to sleep and not to wake up but in peace. Oh my God! I am not yet ready for this...

being sick is of no way a pleasure - oh except maybe when we don't have to report to work and get paid anyway (sick leave). But it sure is not too bad to want to die. LOL Stay cool and enjoy each sick day.
