Hello friends, Apple has announced the date of their wifi iPad's sale from April 3, although the 3G model looks attractive, the wifi one will make a hit across children I guess. What do you think about the iPad and its potential applications?

Already I've heard problems arizing for the Ipad which has yet to launch. I think apple is bitting off more then they can chew, and I don't see the benifit of it. Its a larger version of an already-existing product. Or, have people forgotten about netbooks, mini-laptops, and the palm pilot or the palm top computers? Apparently so.

ya, I too heard of some assembly line problems or something else, but hey, apple is used to all these. Remember the 27in iMac? They had the screen flickering and other display related probs. Remeber the 24in iMac with HD4850? It too had some Graphics card overheating issues and display probs. Apple's manufacturing defects date back to 1984's mac. But iPad is their first bet in tablet market, so I guess it should be good enough, at least free from manufacturing defects.

Hi santhosbaala Potential applications? Only one and that will be digital media such as digital magazines or comics. Apart from that the ipad is pretty useless in my opinion.

What about the games? I guess iPad clearly has the best touchscreen out there, so games could be interesting, for instance take enigmo, it was quite difficult to play such games in small screens right?

Yes I am sure it will play games but I don't think the ipad is aimed at the gaming market to be honest. It just seems an expensive bit of kit that has already been done better by apple and on a cheaper and smaller scale with the ipod touch and the iphone.

Ya LOL. I could buy a nice Graphics card for that cost!
