As we walk through the paths of Life, it is undeniable that we make decisions or be part of a situation that we "Regret". Regret because it has been done and it can not be altered. In my Life, the greatest Regret i can consider is not given the Chance to give my mother a better Life. You see, she died at age 58. I was fresh from college then and have just started my 1st job. She has lived a hard life being a single parent of us 6 children (eldest got married, we are 7). Up until to this moment, i still wish she has lived longer and let me have the chance to show her nicer places, let her fly in an airplane, eat foods she has not tasted before, wear nicer clothes, shoes, bags. Such a Regret still aches. The pain lasts a Lifetime hence i call it "Regret in Life". I am sure i am not alone having "Regrets in Life". How about you? Share your regret(s) here ~ sharing has the magic to make our burdens a little lighter. Try it and hear what other say!

Not communicating in my marriage, not speaking up about problems when they happened, things that didn't feel right, etc.

It's not over until it's over, but it's not good...

As selfish as it may seem, my biggest regret in life is spending the majority of my life doing everything I can to make other people happy, before stopping to think, "Will this make Chad happy?" So many decisions, and so many things have been done in my life for other people that went against what I wanted, but I did them anyways, just so the other people would be happy.

and i could guess these other people are the people close to your heart...mmmhhh @ least you realized it. Doing something too much is also like eating too much or drinking too much. Too much is always not good. *wink* Thnx 4 sharing.

My biggest regret is that I followed the advice of others instead of following my heart. When I was a child, I told my parents that I wanted to be a writer. They told me that there were thousands of starving writers in this world. When the time came to go to college, my parents told me that the only education that they would pay for would be an accounting focused one. As a result, I spent many years doing something that brought me a lot of success but also a lot of misery. What accounting did do for me was to create a mechanism that allowed me to retire early and follow my dreams. I've been writing for two years and I've never been happier

Sometimes conforming too much to the dictates of other people, and not speaking up when I felt like I wanted to, and not able to decide firmly for myself. I should have exercised aasertiveness and independence a long time ago. BUt sometimes, life didn't really give much options and I believe that teh things in the past had reasons for happening.

You are confessed and I feel your mother doesn't required all what you have planned to give after you settled. Any one at their end of life required Care and Love that gives boost to stay for long for ever in your heart. Its important to all of us to give the best which is valued not in terms of money.. I called its LOVE. If we cant give as purity and it will create damage.

Not going to the college I wanted to go to Sure I got the grades that I wanted (and needed to get a place in a good University), but I made the mistake of going to a college that my parents pressurized me into going to. I hated my entire experience there, and that was my biggest regret so far

As for me, I think I regret that I won't be able to give anymore the promising good life for my parents though they're still with us. It was my dream to give them good life hopefully before getting married but I'm about to build my own family now. I am not sure if I can still provide or achieve that dreams. Among the siblings I'm the only one who pursued to finished my college degree. I found jobs after I graduated and tried to help my parents sent my other brothers in school. But they failed my parents and so am I. I even tried to not to think of getting married or settling down because I want them to get finish studying in college first. But after all the efforts they just stopped for unreasonable excuses. I wish I just chose to work abroad to earn more and be able to provide a better living for my parents. But I was so coward to leave my parents and my brothers to become too lazy and dependent to us so I stayed here and do local jobs. Now, I'm about to live my own family and maybe I may not be able to consistently or it might lessen the support I am giving them because I have to consider my own family now.

i do not like regrets, fortunately I do not have something which I can call a regret. I do not want any regrets in my life. There is no point discussing regrets if I will have in future because it will not add any value to anyone. I would love to learn from that mistake instead of telling this to all and regret.

i don't have many regrets, but i think that not helping my mom and not realizing at the time how much she's done for me is my biggest regret so far.
