What do you do? 1 Tell the Bank 2 Hope that they won't notice and go on a spending Spree. 3 Think Oh well in the meantime I will spend some, then ring and demand a reward for your honesty. Start transferring it slowly into another Account. Let me know? I would hand it back, afterall one it isn't mine, but I would prob, photograph it and brag lol.

the first i do is check with the bank. i want to know where the money really came from. though it could be impossible to have the bank debit this amount of money to one account without their knowledge, i guess it is only proper to let the bank know about it. if it is really intended for me, then thank goodness.

I guess I would be tempted to use the money and rather think of it as a blessing in disguise...

I'd get caught eventually. Might as well just hand it back.

If you go on that spending spree, you could find yourself in some serious trouble. The bank will catch the error at some point and if you spent the money, they will be looking for repayment. I once wrote a check for $2,325 to my credit card company. When I got my statement, I discovered that the bank deducted $325 from my bank account. I checked my credit card and the balance was zero so they were paid in full. I called the bank on Monday morning to advise of their mistake and when I told the person that I spoke with that the bank made a mistake, she said "No we didn't. You need to learn how to balance your checking account." I was so angry by her attitude that I thought that't fine. It took the bank eight months to catch the error. In the meantime, they paid me interest on $2,000 for eight months. When they corrected their error, they didn't correct the interest payment. That was fine with me. The last thing that I want when I contact the bank to help them out is to listen to an attitude from an employee.

I would go right to the bank to get it straighten out. Its not my money and no one I know would put a million dollars into my account. Wishful thinking though!

I think there will be no reaction from me for few seconds and after that I will ask myself whether i have taken any lottery ticket. If the answer is no then I will go to the bank and inform them.

oh actually i used to work in the bank as accountant and sometimes due to system problem it really happened but it doesnt mean that we will not going to find out about it as we check all our clients accounts from time to time and do the balancing. of course i know if that will happened some people will going to be tempted and took the opportunity then withdraw the money and go somewhere else but then they cant hide as bank is big institution and so its not easy for someone to do it as the government will look for them and let them returned the money or they will go to jail for life
