Like Being Accosted at a Store?

What do you do when there's somebody selling something or soliciting donations in front of a store you're heading towards or trying to leave? Have you ever "piggybacked" off a stranger, essentially using him or her as a shield?

yes! The human shield trick is a classic, another is pretending to intently read your reciept, or "yelling" at your kids if you have them handy.
I'm sick of stores letting just any ole body pawn their wares out front, many of them seem rather shady to me.
I remember when it was just the Girl Scouts or Boy Scouts allowed to setup and sell cookies and popcorn. Lately it's any religious freak, "humanitarian" organization that no one has ever heard of, and "local food banks" nobody has ever seen, used or heard of.
bleh...where do they come from!
I'm a little weary of people shoving petitions in my face as well. I'm loading my car with groceries, watching out for kidnappers and theives, I'm not real interested in a petition to protect the natural habitat of potato bugs on some island of the coast of flordia..ya know?
sheeesh
I think I just ranted a little bit..sorry:)

You bet I have done this so many times I lost count. If no one else is around I just look straight ahead and walk fast. This is so annoying because I hate saying no if it is something worthy I just do not appreciate being bothered in this manner.
