I received an email from a friend with a link that shows that underneath the soil in this nation, we have all of the oil we need and then some! Why do you think that this is being ‘kept’ from us? Here’s the link: http://www.usgs.gov/newsroom/article.asp?ID=1911

We have the resources (oil, natural gas, wind, solar, coal, and even nuclear), but we don't have the political will to stand up to the environmental groups, oil and gas industries and other players. And besides health-care is our Nation's number one priority, now...not. This Administration and Congress have the Nation's priorities all screwed up.

Hey there bobmnu - - howdy from a former Wisconsinite now living in Okla. City. I firmly believe that there have been forces within our government, educational system and the media, to neutralize America as a super power. There are many things going on behind closed doors that would bear this out. We MUST stay informed and band together for the unity and freedom of our rights to remain. No matter what our ethnic or other differences. As the old saying goes: "UNITED WE STAND - DIVIDED WE FALL"! {side note} Especially for those of you having kids in the public school system - - make it your business to find out what is being taught in your child's curriculum. These that I have warned about have been little by little, changing history, science, and teachings on morals, etc - - so that the kids will be more acceptable to the status quo. We MUST retain our individual rights and beliefs, and way of life - - if not - we'll become that robotic society that existed (notice I didn't say lived), under Hitler, and other dictators.

You can blame all this on the tree-hugging hippie environmentalist wackos running around on the face of the earth. They've played a HUGE part in preventing this nation from drilling for its own oil, because--oh, heavens!--we might be disturbing the habitat of some stupid snail or butterfly or some other animal they think needs protecting. Pfft. I say "Drill, baby, drill!"

What most on the left and the environmental groups don't care about is that by becoming energy independent we can solve two problems. 1. We will be no longer dependent on foreign countries for our energy. 2. We will create American Jobs and good paying jobs that will create a tidal wave of more American jobs. Drill Here! Drill Now!!

How right you are, there is very little said in the popular media about the US having OIL reserves both under land and off shore on the coastlines. I think in part it is because to access that oil would be tremendously expensive and would likely have a negative impact on our wildlife. There are many people who benefit hugely monetarily by keeping things as they are. I think the question also should be asked why are we not actively using Solar and Wind Power which is readily available?

As a matter of fact there is a lot more then that, we have more oil right here in the US then all the arab nations put together! I have a link to a blog right in my profile, you should read it. If noticed during his campaign our president was quite vocal about the price of energy in the US and "he had a plan" he said "there is no reason why Americans should be paying more then 90 cents a gallon at the pump for regular gas" I remember him saying that like it was yesterday. What do you think he was talking about? He ment the oil we are standing on!!! BUT! as soon as he got in office what changed his mind? I guess he changed his mind because not only is gas not 90 cents but it's going up again to almost $3 and will pass that before summer I bet! Go read that blog and then write every person you can think of in washington! WE WANT OUR OWN OIL!

I have also heard about this from numerous places. It concerns me greatly and I do believe in it. It is a shame that mainstream media does not talk about this ever and they should. More people need to discuss this and ask relevant questions that they should as this is a huge deal.
