Book Pricing or Alternatives

As many know the price of college textsbook are pretty high. You can buy a science book for two hundred dollars and use it only for three months to get five dollors when you sell it back. My question is, has anyone found a better alternative to save money? What do you thing could be a better possibility than spending so much on a book, that at times is never used? I want to see how so many view this issue. Thank you
