when you are depress, what you prefer- food or music?

hi. when i feel low , i want to be left alone with my potato chips and coke . what you do? do you listen to music or indulge in food?

if i feel so depressed i go for food trip. like i will go out and buy my favorite food which is pizza then watch movie alone. then when i got home i will sleep to be more relax. i want to be more tired if im depressed so that when i got home i can simply sleep than thinking too much that only give me head ache and pain.

when i get depressed i listen to melancholic songs.. mostly.. but it doesn't really help, just passes some time, i don't want to think about it just want to indulge in something that might help me not to think about it, even if just for a while.. listening to such songs we could relate to it and i don't know it might be comforting to some and i guess to some extent it does comfort me.. i am glad i don't have such moments often though.

Music usually makes me feel sad when I listen to it when I am depressed. Listening ot music doesnt give me peace of mind at all because it will not help in taking away what I am thinking about. I prefer eating something when I am depressed because eating something especially if it is my favorite can make me feel happy. It gives me a temporary state of well-being. Though it is temporary, I still find a good thing because it can actually help somehow.

It usually depends on how depressed I am. When it's a light depression, then I would come out of it with help of both food and music. But if I have some more serious case (which occur very rarely), I usually eat a lot, especially different snacks. I think that food is one of the best anti-depressants.

Actually it depends on the situation at hand to be honest with you. I mean, certain situations will cause for certain measures to calm my nerves. Of course, there will be times where food will be readily available, so I find myself going straight for different types of food. Mostly chocolate it seems. Chocolate does wonders in helping me feel better when I am at my lowest, most down state. Unfortunately, food is not always at hand. Therefore, I have to relieve my depression with music. To be honest, it does not really matter what type of music that I play. It just really depends on the mood to be honest. However, when I am down, I really have to hear something. So I turn on the radio or pull out a CD or two to see what is available. Of course there is always a mix. Eating food while listening music is something that I have been known to do from time to time when I am feeling down and in the dumps. As I said, there are different situations and they call for different solutions. Unfortunately there are times where food is available and music is not. Sometimes music is available but I am unable to get near any food. Then there are times with both and then neither. Talk about a downer that last one.

I don't have a big appetite whatever i'm depressed or not so i always listening to music when i'm feeling sad/depressed. Or draw.

hi ksmita When I feel depressed I listen to Mozarts piano, flute, and violin sonatas, and pig out on potato chips and cheese at the same time. so I do both and have to be careful as I am a diabetic and must watch to keep my blood sugar at a correct level all the time. so I have to not eat too much at any one time.

when i got depressed, I prefer lots of food and some comedy on a large LCD TV..Sometimes music helps to comfort me but usually I would indulge in food. Cheers.

I prefer music when I'm depress, i don't feel like eating when I'm depressed i lose my appetite when I feel down ..SO i don't have any interest in food. I prefer listening to music it relax my mind . Happy myLotting!

hi, I feel listen to music is best to overcome depression though i dont use anyway...If i am depressed i will face it neither food nor music can remove my depression... :( maybe it is my nature? I believe that music can remove stress so even i can not come out completely ..listing to pleasant songs may help to some extent... Another way is to see some comedy clips... :) which is good for health.

when i depressed i dont like to do anything but most of the times i loike to hear to music rather than eating . i feel that i cant eat when i am depressed . i would rather prefer music to eating when i feel depressed .

Unfortunately for my waistline, I prefer food when I'm depressed. It's a comfort thing for me. I love eating anyway, and food does something to distract me from whatever's wrong. I really wish I preferred music to food when I was depressed, though! Then I wouldn't feel so guilty afterward!

When I feel depressed, I will call my friend and tell them about my frustrations. Sometimes I will watch the movies I like, I believe time can rush everything. Only do I feel fidgety, I will eat food.

I prefer to sleep. I don't know why but I just want to have a good rest and sleep all day when I'm depressed. I also divert my time doing online stuff like what I'm doing right now. Honestly, I feel so down today and I'm dealing with some problems. I had my long sleep awhile ago and went online just now to spend my spare time productively. I always believe that if we are down today we will be on top again tomorrow. LOL. Ohhh... I avoid eating lots of food because I will surely regret it in days to come.

actually I'm a paradox, When I'm depressed I like to do both; but there are also certain times I don't have the appetite for both. But often I like to do both but I refrain to listen to love songs, just like what neyo said in the song "so sick". It makes someone depressed more. More happy songs and more heavy food that is why i have good cooping mechanism with depression.

listening to music and eating can help us to uplift our mood. eating a lot especially black chocolates and chips helps, as well as listening to soothing music and singing out loud. however when i my cholesterol shoot up i started not to eat chips. so as of now am into listening to music..
