Usually I use flash cards where applicable. Otherwise I try to associate pieces of information with something easy to remember, or something i like, which for me is movies. if you teach me something from a movie I will remember. example: I was taking a government class last year in college. One of the terms I was studying was Imperialism- which means taking over another country and imposing your way of life. I immediately recalled a piece of info from one of my favorite books/movies. Harry potter, if you are a potter fan you will know that the imperius curse is taking over another person and making them do things thusly imposing your way of life. So thats how I remember what it is. this method doesn't work with all areas of study but it works sometimes. I also know people who can study listening to music, and then associate what they were studying with a specific song.

I'm a college graduate now but knowing people have different set of skills and habits it will be hard to copy one's method. One way is to have a planner. If everything you do is planned it will be much efficient for you. Following time and what to do can be hard but I'm sure it will pay off. Next some people prefer studying before sleeping but some people can't study when he or she is sleepy, for me I will sleep 3 or 4 hours then study, this is the best method for me. One more thing make sure you would finish projects way before the deadline. So you can have time for other unexpected projects near the same deadline. I more i will add your free time is the most important time the more you can use it for studies and projects the better for your schooling. More fun outside and partying will surely make you less productive...
