Of course this idea is out from PTCs. Have you tried collecting shells for a living???? What I am talking about is not a fresh shells, but they are still caught deep from the sea and buried weeks from the ground decaying all its body inside. Cleaned with water preserving its real beauty and sold in the market. These are not ordinary shells usually found near the shore. Sometimes fishermen not knowledgeable of this thing may ignore shells they caught along from fishing. But this can give you a lot of bulks. Have you known about this or just first time here????

That's good to hear, prime. You know, my uncle also earned a lot with shells too. I remember, they only had an owner type jeep before. Then they had their grinding place which we called "gasang" make bigger. Then they had a few trucks later, added some more bodegas.

I was not aware that it was a job to collect shells but on the otherhand, Iguess someone must do it because I see some beautiful ornaments and jewellry made with shells.
When I go to the sea I usually bring any special shells home with me. I have some which had beautiful colours and shapes and were intact so I brought them home and they are on the table as ornaments

Hi diana... wow, that's a good hobby----collecting shells. Before I didn't have any idea too that these shells found in the sea could be a source of good living----but this is true... Beautiful ornaments and the like are made of broken and not pefect shells or common shells... but those rare shells are sold in Ebay---as an expensive item.... there are museums that displayed book record shells. And diana there is an auction for expensive jewelries made by shells!!!!!

Oh I will leave that for more enterprising people. It's not my kind of thing - and Ilive too far away from the sea to be able to make anything out of it.
I am just happy to have my own personal shells and the memories that they hold with them that only I can see

hi! once I have watched a broadcast on discovery channel about the different jobs in the world and I actually watch about people who collecting shells in Greece just to earn for their food and living. And as I still remember it, they can only do that in the hot summer, when on the shore of the sea they search for those precious shells, which look like funnels and stick out from the sand in the water. one kilo from those shells- one kilo netto i mean without the shells, costs more than 150 Euros which i think is very profitable business especially when you don't pay any taxes or fees

Hi phoenix... but here is not only summer but the whole year round... shells are caught with fisher's net specially if they live deep in the ocean floor. Most of the cases native living along the shore collect shells and sell this per kilo. But these shells I am talking about is sold per item. These are taken images and deal on the site. A shell rare enough could be sold 200USD or more, how much is that in your currency????

Yes, i heard of it. When we go to shores, we take the shells and collect them as hobby. Some will be white in color rest in different colors. For those in white, we use to color it ourselves, make nice decorative stuffs like. we hang it on our walls. I never sold it, but thats a nice idea too. It will look really cool make.

Long before-----collecting shells and making them into a decorative stuff were source of living for many folks of ours who lived nearby the shore besthope. And people learn to sold it on eBay for more bulks. Not only for decorative purposes. Many expensive shells are offered per item preserving it's real beauty. Not touching and changing its real colors and features. And today. most fishermen included shells for their fishing-----shells would stick into the net in the ocean. There are some shells and sea creatures that are banned for collecting, those endangered one. BFAR is watching for it.
