I make good chappatis in shape and thickness. Neither my husband nor I are not very much concerned about the shape. We have fun making those in different shapes. My mother and my sister are very good at this job. Most of us at home like to have chappati, especially with fish or chicken curry. It goes well with fish fry also. Yummy! I have a watery mouth now.

Dear Siliguri... I respect you for atleast trying to do this. Today girls are so lazy ,they don't want to learn cooking and have no interest in household work. I am happy that you are trying. I will give you a tip...when you hold the roller don't put your hand weight on the sides of the roller........hold the roller very lightly and then try to role.....your fingers should not be open while rolling but close and lift your elbow a bit higher and roll lightly. You will be surprised to see that, not only your chapati will become round, but it will turn round and round itself on the board (chakla) and it will not even stick...if you will keep practicing , you will become expert and you mother will be proud of you and your future husband will love you.

ha ha ha.....good joke.......never mind......so what if you are a boy. now a days there is no difference between boys and girls. Any thing that you can learn will be helpful sometime in life. You should learn like Aamir khan does in 3 idiots....all knowledge is for good. You can give this tip to your female friends, and they will be impressed...lol. I wish some girl had asked this question... and if you will learn to make chapatis....your future wife will be happy.......

There is a guy in my office who makes the perfect chappathis ever. They are thin and fluffy and melt like butter in our mouths. He is an awesome cook and I do what I do best .Eat what he has to offer. And yes I am going to try to make a few myself now that I am living alone.

I have tried to that as a kid when I was sitting near mom when I used to fell hungry. I failed to make it exactly round and thin but it was close to egg shape and was little more thick. Then my mom rolled over that Chapathi and resized that egg into a chapathi. Its size almost 40% more than my egg shaped one, means it was very thick one as well.. But in the end I ate that chapathi and was happy that I helped my mother in making one Chapathi.

Normally I will do anything - cook as well to help my wife but making ( esp rolling )Chapatis is not for me in the sense I cannot get them round and this- they appear in all sizes and shapes except round and thin- but what difference does it make- as long as they taste the same- and anyway they have to be made into pieces before eating. So in case of real need I do roll them too!!!

i dont know any thing about making chappati and all . but i have seen my mother doing it good . she will get the circular shape and it may not be that thin but will be of correct size . i have did it once but i made it with the pressing machine for chappati . its very simple in that just place the wheat powder and press it . most of the times it will give round and thin chappatis .

Yes, siliguri, I am capable to do that. Still, everyday I am making 'Chappathis' for my children with perfect round and paper like thin. It is because of my experience. ow I am at the age of 63 years. I had been 13 years in Bombay , India. There I have to make my break fast myself. At first, the product came as Africa or Australia continent shapes. Then slowly it started to round up. Why at this old age I am making this stuff, because, my children like it very well.
