i heard from the television this morning that in order to improve the quality of education of children, they must enroll to preparatory school or kindergarten. and it should be one of the requirements both private and public schools in admitting for grade one pupil. are you in favor to this idea of the education sector? what do you think? would it improve the quality of education?

I don't think the eduction sector would have to impose this if the parents are responsible enough. If the kids receive education from their parents that would be enough to make them suitable for grade one then it shouldn't be an issue. It's parent's that dump their child's education which would be targeted by this. There are still children old enough for grade 1 but are "demoted" to preschool so it's a matter of the readiness of the child more than policy. I've read that putting your child in school early is more detrimental to the learning process though and that's what I'm more concerned with. Also I don't think at that point, quality of education would be such an issue. You don't exactly need to be top notch educators to make kids follow you, it's more of an appeal and understanding to how children should be taught which is more important then rather than the lessons they learn in my opinion. Any lack of education made by a kindergarten teacher should be supplemented by the parent's as it is their responsibility.

Yes i agree with you.it is not a measurement that a child who went to kindergarten is more knowledgeable than the one who directly enroll for grade 1 because for me i was not able to go to kindergarten but then i was able to surpass my classmates who underwent to preschools. it is also the obligation of the parents to assess their children and teach them the basic education to ready them for the formal one.

I don't think this should be imposed as a rule. What are they going to teach these toddlers? Toddlers should have the choice whether they would like to go to preparatory schools or not. Basic education such as reading & writing should be taught by the parents. This is just adding another year to the education system but not really adding any value. I'll enroll my kid to preparatory school if the school would teach him stuffs that are fun. Such as coloring, singing, dancing and playing with other kids of his age. He has 15yrs of education ahead of him to learn english, science and math. Actually in my opinion, grade school should be lessened or the amount of subjects tought be revised. Some of them are really old and impractical already.

Yes I agree it should be voluntarily because some parents can't afford it. Parents can teach their children so why spending too much in preparatory schools.

i agree your opinion, children should not be forced to go to kindergarten because actually children age 4-6 are still too young to go to school. they are still playful unless for some children who are ready for it. that is why it is a big issue if they they required all incoming grade 1 to have preparatory schools.

I am not in favor of being forced to put my child into school. My daughter is going to preschool next year, not because I feel like she is going to be behind academically but just to give her something to do and more friends! But I am hoping for only 1/2 day and I still intend to keep teaching her numbers, letters, words, etc., the best teacher is the parents - even if they don't feel like they are teaching anything but bad habits! Do you have children? What do you think about this?

i am in favor for children to go to kindergarten but not compulsory. because there are parents who cannot send their children to preschools since they don't have money instead they just wait for time that they will be enrolled for grade 1.
